Post your pics of your layered hip length hair here. I'm going to get some more layers cut into my hair but am having trouble visualising how it's going to look with face framing layers or a side fringe or ....

Would love to see others cuts and have some time to think about what I'm going to go for.

I have to apologise for constantly asking this question but it's my birthday on thursday and I just might go and get it cut. Not much off the length but more layers and some movement around my face so that I can have some softening of my updos which I struggle with at the moment.

Here is mine at the moment - a couple of different vies of my subtle layers

I think that maybe some face framing layers or a side fringe might work although a side fringe could be too heavy for my face??? No make-up here - sorry. But hey - we are all friends here right?

It's not perfect, one part of my hair is tucked under the middle part and my poor mother was getting impatient so I didn't have the heart to ask her to take another picture.

It was washed and taken out of a damp bun, so those aren't my natural waves.
I'm assuming you meant a picture from the back and not how the waves would look in the front. I have more pictures from different angles in my albums if you want to see more layers from different angles.

Here is the pic: http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/album.php?albumid=7176&pictureid=125985

I'm actually hoping to grow out my layers so they're more subtle like yours!

I can't participate in this because my hair is way too short but I just wanted to say that to me your hair is pure perfection and my dream hair in every possible way - the cut, the colour, the length. And you look just stunning with your long hair, it fits you perfectly. :blossom:

Hi
I think your hair is absolutely beautiful the way it is - I'd say don't get it cut in layers, it makes it thinner, and with hair as long and luscious as yours, you will probably miss the heaviness! For me, it's my security blanket, and when one and a half inches was cut the other day, it was like someone cut a hole in my heart! Please, don't mess with perfection! :)
Have a gorgeous day <3

Thanks for the compliments but my hair is so heavy and full that thinning it out is a blessing for me. I won't put heaps of layers in but I think something at the front to soften my face will be good. I love the way my hair feels when it's been flat-ironed but of course I don't really do that anymore than once every 4 months or so because I notice how dry it is for days afterwards.

Having said all this, one of the reasons I grew it out in the first place was because I hated me layers - go figure!! But when I grew to all one length, I really felt like I was wearing a cape and I didn't like that at all. I kind of felt swallowed up by it.

Your hair is absolutlely gorgeous!
I don't really know if you should cut it though, but if it feels good, do it! :)

I really love your hair! Are those waves in the last picture your natural texture? I think layers would suit them fabulously.

Try Googling Holly Marie Combs, Nina Dobrev or Katherine Mcphee...both have lovely, blended layers. Holly's texture looks to be about like yours in the straight picture.

I would opt for a few shoulder/ lower neck length pieces to start---something you can pull out of an updo for softness but still fit back if need be. Then go up to a side bang if you're digging it.

Have fun and happy birthday!

mostly my pics in my album are with hiplength and (faceframing) layers .
Dont worry u dont need make up i think you look pretty!
But i agree that a fringe would hide too much of your face, i would go for layers between chin and colarbone, either way you have lovely hair

Hip when not curled :

This shows the layers pretty well, even though the wind is blowing, lol. (And this is my natural color.)

I have hip length hair with layers which is close to your hair type. I don't have any recent pics because I took a pledge to not take any pics of my hair length from the back until the end of the summer, or even not until next January! You can go into my album and look at my old pics of my hair, but most of them will be when my hair was at waist, or just past waist.

P.S. I think your hair is beautiful! I especially love the colour! :D

I love long lengths with layers! This is eventually what I want! But I only want waist length hair.

This is how my hair looked before I chopped it off, to neck length! I know... I know.. But I'm growing it again now! It looks like this now....

Dying of jealosy here!! I'd love all your hairs!! Beautiful colours and textures! I love my colour, but the straightness of it gets me down sometimes. Yes it means it appears to grow faster, but I'd love more texture.

I'll be camping out in this thread to ogle the pretty hair!

I think layers like Ultrabellas would look wonderful in your hair Julliams. Side bangs might be a bit heavy, but if you like the layers once you have them done, try bangs too, as the rest will be layered, it won't look odd if you feel you want to grow them out after all-its just become another layer ;)

The first picture is my natural wave pattern. The last pic is when I use this method http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/blog.php?b=99317 I'm still experimenting with it but I really like the results and it's the curls I wish I had naturally.

Thinking that the side fringe will be too heavy for me and I'll take the advice about keeping the layers long. They can always go shorter next time.

Now I have to decide if I REALLY want to cut this week or wait for my original plan which was in July...

On a side note I've been watching re-runs of charmed lately and love Holly's hair although it was always straightened for that show.
