...because I'm not paying £30 for a nice, tasty claw clip for my hair to eat!

Sorry, seriously, I was wondering if anyone likes claw clips here, and has any recommendations of less-expensive brands without killer Claire's Accessories-type edges and evil springs? Ideally, I'd like a med-large clip and a couple of minis for half-ups. And I'd maybe pay up to £10 for a large clip, but not more, because my hair (although still short) tends to best them in the end. : )

You could try a large branch of Boots or Superdrug. Boots particulalry sell some lovely hair toys. Barrettes etc. My first hair toys were the pricey high end (and high quality, Graydog MtM LV etc.) variety, so this was my benchmark qualitywise. I've been more than happy with the quality, hair safety aspects and designs I've found in Boots particulalry.

Prices @ around £3-6.

That's brilliant, thank you! I'm going on a shopping trip with a friend tomorrow afternoon, so I shall nip into a big Boots then. : )
