John Carter movie: Old lady hair

In the movie "John Carter", one of the Thern shapeshifts into an old woman during the parade toward the end. I'm looking for any tips/techniques for achieving a similar look. It looks to me like her hair is maybe twisted around a scarf in some way?
Any help is greatly appreaciated!
