I seem to be having a heavier than normal shedding right now and I don't remember doing that in the summer before. Usually it's the Fall that I have this. Last Fall it preceded a nice growth spurt! I hope that is what will happen again!

It's generally fall for me as well. But even so, its not every fall. More like every few years. It's been a few years since my last heavy shed. I wonder if I'm due?

I don't have a particular time of year for my sheds. They come when they come.

For me the summer growth spurt/fall shed, just doesn't happen. I wouldn't be concerned about it in the least. (She says to a group of hair-obsessed people, like herself )

I dont know - I've always been a heavy shedder and never noticed a particular time of year when I shed more than at other times... Maybe I need to pay more attention!

I've always had more shedding in the spring/summer... I always think of it as getting my summer coat, like my rabbits used to :)

The last time I had a heavy shed (2005), it occurred end August/early September.

I had a nasty shed last year in Aug/Sept, then a phase of just about no growth. Then after all that I got a growth spurt. I hate sheds, lol.

It's funny you should bring this up, Curlsgirl! I usually start my annual shed in September, but right now I'm shedding like an old dog. Wait a minute! I am an old dog! Oh well...ya just can't win.

I don't think it's that unusual, everybody sheds at different times I guess. I remember having a fairly heavy shed last Aug/Sep (right when I joined, too!). I haven't really paid much attention before, so I hope this won't be a yearly thing for me. My growth is finally starting to be good!

You're not the only one! I've been shedding like crazy! Every morning when I wake up my pillow is covered with shed hairs. I don't think it's a huge shed, but a lot more than normal.

I have noticed an unusually high amount of shedding during the last week. Perhaps it is seasonal.

I went through a MAJOR shed in the springtime. I thought something was wrong, but then remembered I didn't shed much the year before. I think everyone would be on a slightly difference cycle. Has it stopped? I mean, we all shed hairs, but I know when you hit that one shedding time, it seems like you are losing a LOT.

I also think if hair is super long, it may look like more than you are losing because the hair folds.
