Mostly it's all about being patient- hair does not grow overnight (well, it does... but a teeny tiny bit)!

Wear your hair up, with safe hair toys- hair sticks, hair forks, etc. Wearing your hair in a bun which protects your ends is best.

S&D- search and destroy split ends when you have time... or micro trim.

Those are my two fav tips.

Updos and leave ins have been a lifesaver for me with the little ones. Wash, detangle, apply leave in and put in updo. In my opinion it greatly contributed to healthy, hair that made it from shoulder to hip in just under three years. Keeps the little ones from hair pulling too!

When my son was little, my hair was about APL to BSL and I wore it in two braids most of the time. I would redo the braids every couple of days while my son napped.

I hear you on the "no me time" thing. I'm like you growing shoulder to terminal. I have a four year old and an almost 2 year old. All I can say is just wait until your lo is moving around.

That's wonderful. Don't take this the wrong way but I love you. :D

Other than that basic advice I have nothing, unless you have a specific issue.

Coconut oil - as a preshampoo or mixed with shampoo, as a deep moisturiser when heated, as a leave in conditioner for overnight oiling and braiding

Best thing I ever did

My advice would be turn this 'no me time' period to your advantage. It's an opportunity to practice benign neglect, and as you're occupied with your baby, your hair will be growing. By the time you have time, you'll have something to work with!

When I'm watching my nephew, chances are my hair is in a bun or braids. It's fine. He has never grabbed my hair intentionally, and he's almost 3. Accidentally, yes, but he's never done anything as close to as painful as stuff I've done myself by accident.

My niece is only a week or so old, and she *has* tried to eat my braid once. But I'm pretty sure a less than a week old newborn is confused about how the world works, and she isn't strong enough to be rough with my hair yet.

Really, as long as your hair is up and it gets washed as needed, it should be fine.

I put my hair up in styles that I can leave for a day or two. Usually a braided bun or similar. Long braids don't work that well for me for a long time... they get too unkempt.
