It's actually very comfortable. Less fuss than a crown braid which is super. I took lots o' pics.

Kind of weird from the side though. It accentuates the fact the the back of my head is flat. (makes wearing elastic headbands impossible)

Very pretty! Yes, they certainly are a lot easier to do than regular crown braids!

For some odd reason I can't do the twist version... but the regular crown is all good. I'm jealous!

PS: Gorgeous.. GORGEOUS. Its quite a flattering 'do.

back of my head is flat. (makes wearing elastic headbands impossible)

I have this exact same problem! I keep trying to get the headband curling method to work, but the stupid elastic band just slides right off the back of my head!

Exactly my thought!

This is how my hair looks when I put it up in a head band to curl it, or sometimes just wear my hair up. I like it it looks like a greek crown of laurels! :)

Such a pretty style, I love it! :D It looks so nice on you, too! I'm wondering if I can adapt this style for my length... I'm not sure what I'd do with all the extra braid after I was done with the crown. :hmm: Were you able to just tuck yours in?

So that's how they did Cptn Janeway's hair in some episodes (star trek voyager)! Lovely!

Yes I tuck my ends in. It helps it all look somewhat even thickness.

You can twist the hair further back. It just won't be at the hairline that's all.

Oh hooray! It's nice to see that style on somebody besides myself. I've often found it a really good way to deal with oily hair.

It reminds me of a style from the 40's similar to a roll hairstyle or a Gibsonroll.
very pretty on you, plus you are very pretty

That's beautiful. My hair is too fine to hold a twist so if I tried it, I would probably have to pin it as I went for it to hold properly. Even simple side twists wind up partially untwisted and down over my ears unless I pin them.

UP Lisa, you might be able to do it if you use a different approach..i.e. doing it in the upside down position. That's what I do..all hair in front of me, like a curtain, thoroughly detangled. Then I start at the front of the right ear and work across the front of the head (twisting the strands about half an inch from the front hairline) until I reach the left ear.

Then I stand erect, change hand positions, and continue twisting the strands around the back of the head and down to the very ends. I tuck in the tassle under the twisted crown.

This does take a while to master...but it works beautifully.

Thank you, Madora. I will try that.
