I am thinking to make my own mayonnaise for my hair instead of using store mayo. Do you think this will be better for my hair? Or will be basically the same thing?

It won't be the same thing because your mayo will be made of only eggs, oil, mustard, salt and/or lemon juice.

Also yours might (will) spoil faster.

It'll be delicious though, almost a waste to put on your hair ;)
Eat it with fried potatoes instead!

The mayo should last approximately 4 days in the fridge. Since you don't need all that much for your hair, I'd make extra. If you're going to go through all that trouble, which isn't that bad actually given the results, at least make extra and indulge in it's goodness!
ETA: I forgot to answer your question, I got so excited by the taste! Um, yes, I think it would be better for your hair since there won't be any preservatives.

I love home-made mayo but never tried it on my hair.
I usually just use egg yolks, olive oil and lemon juice and sometimes garlic and basil leaves. mmmm
I tried store bought mayo and also miracle whip on my hair and my hair didn't seem to really enjoy it for some reason and it smelled like mayo even after I finally got it out...
IMO the home-made (with lemon juice) will work better as well as smell better which is a PLUS :)
Please post if you try it :D
eta: i never cook mine.

I make my own mayo. It is very easy to do in the blender! I've not put it on my hair, but I am guessing you could try different oils to make super hair-deluxe versions. I don't have any trouble with spoilage. I get two-ish cups from one egg and only make it one egg at a time since it is so fast to make.

Like sweet almond oil and olive oil together? chromis.. I think that would be a nice blend.

Exactly like that! Since I make mine for eating, I have not tried that particular blend, but in theory any oil should work just fine. Some folks use grapeseed oil for their mayo and for their hair, so you might even be able to find a hair-deluxe mayo that will taste taste good as well. I am pondering about coconut oil though, but I'm not sure how that would work since it goes solid in the fridge. Probably still be fine for immediate use as you are describing. :)

You can make mayo especially fot hair. You can add essential oils and coconut cream.sometimes I even add vanilla and I eliminate the pepper and the salt. It usually smells heavenly because vanilla covers the smell of eggs, like in a cake:)
