Ok so as a lot of you know, I'm a hard core lord of the rings nerd. I came across ravens lairs add a brooch fork:

And am going to put Arwen's butterfly brooch on it and Galadriels too if I can find it anywhere. :(

Anyway, now for the opinion part. I found this brooch that I love:

And would like to put it on my fork but am afraid it will look too chunky. What do you guys think?

It's pretty, it's only 2" x 2" exclusive of the charm. I'd send a link of it to the hair fork artist and ask her opinion.

I think it will look like a shield guarding your bun. Depending on how you wear it, it will probably look fine hanging down the back, though it may end up sticking straight out if your bun has a high point on it. I really, really love my add-a-brooch fork. The setting part is actually a mm too broad for many brooches with 1" pin-backs. I have changed the topper for my fork a few times and it has caused the pins on the brooches I have used to bend out a bit. I think I'm going to file the setting a tiny bit then sand it down. These are all hand made forks, so you might not find the same minor issue with yours. The nice thing is, with these forks you can have as big, or little a statement piece as you'd like.

It seems to be roughly the same size as the tops to my MairzyDozy forks, and while they make a statement I don't think they are too big, I'd give it a go !
