So much work:

I don't like it though! But I think this is really nice, I can't figure out how it is done:

And this one is very nice too (shame they made a poytail in the end):

What kind of tool is that?

Would this style of braid be bad for hair? Due to the pushing back?

That stylist in the first video is amazing! And that's such a clever way of making the braid at the end. The whole 'design' isn't really my style, but I like watching a master at work.

The first one is truly a masterpiece, and the stylist seems to be quite gentle to the models hair. But might I just observe, that her hair is very damaged, and they could have chosen a better model for such an elaborate hairstyle.:(

I wonder what the first video stylist would do with hair at my length, or longer? That's a super neato hair style. I think that's a fishtail braid, and I've seen that kind of braid done on uber long hair and opened like that as well. It's a somewhat new "take" on an older look in the stable of braiding.

The tool in the last video, the lady says what it's called. It's effectively a kind of needle for threading hair through things, just like a sewing needle is. That's what it looks like to me.

I think the first updo would be hard to do oneself, yet not impossible. It would take some practice to weave the hair that way, though.

Heidi, your hair would make some awesome hairstyles, but would take some hours maybe? I can imagine they could do this one:

and then maybe braids, bun or one braid. Would look good!

Its a ribcage braid. Very similar to the fishtail, but not quite. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Bt9Zwcpstw

The weaving work on the front was amazing, and the detail in the back on how he tidies up the end gorgeous.

HOWEVER, two things bothered me: the sheer amount of pins. It made my head hurt just to watch... and the terrible state of her hair. It made me want to pet it and coo that it would be better.

I agree though, he's a total master.

Pins are so painful to get out, and without snapping hairs off.... very difficult

I'd be more impressed if they did the hairstyles on themselves like the girl in the last vid did. I love that waterfall one, btw. Might have to buy a topsy turvy just for that!
