I am going to a masquerade ball on Friday and I don't know how to do my hair for it. I have classic length hair and I can do most hair dos. My dress is silver, poofy, floor length and strapless.

What are you going as? that would help us offer up better style selections. A princess would need something different from what would be appropriate for a sorceress, to give one pair of examples.
For a princess, I would suggest soft curls, or a soft updo, probably with inspiration from the Edwardian era. Accessorize with flowers or sparkly items.
A sorceress would need a sterner, controlled updo, perhaps a braided bun, and maybe with some accent braids to make it look intricate and elegant. Accessorize with maybe a large, geometric styled hairtoy - think art deco.

Probably princessy. I want something elegant and pretty.

How about Torrin's swoop bun (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rx1wl8fNvto), and then decorated with some flower clips? Or you could do a half-up of some kind if you want it down.

That swoop bun looks lovely!

If you want it down, how about a half-up with two-three accent braids, maybe with some ribbon woven into them - silver/other contrast colour (maybe something similar to this, a bit more elaborate perhaps: http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/album.php?albumid=7126&pictureid=119511 (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/album.php?albumid=7126&pictureid=119511)). With braidwaves/bunwaves or your natural straight texture. You could also bun the accent braids, or do a rose-bun as a half-up (along the lines of this: http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/album.php?albumid=7126&pictureid=102794 (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/album.php?albumid=7126&pictureid=102794)).
You could also add some sparkly pins...

I think it would look gorgeous in big loose curls and half up. Maybe you can twist several sections of the hair for the half up and adorn it with sparkly pins?
