I'm trying to decide if my Giovanni 50/50 sulfate free clarifying shampoo is enough t get rid of silicone buildup. I have the Neutrogena anti-residue which is great, but is very very harsh on my hair. :( Can you all suggest a way to get rid of it more naturally, or is my sulfate-free shampoo enough?

Yikes I dunno but I'd love to hear the answer! I'll be watching this thread...

It works for me, but I do throw in a sulfate wash every once in awhile (like once every two months). I think the 50/50 is fine.

Ktani has an article about silicones and if I recall correctly, her research has shown that even sulfate free shampoos will remove silicones.
Good luck!

You know, if you just stop using silicones and just use any product that has no cones it will be fine. ;)
For a few weeks your hair may not look like happy but this is because of the silicones removing from them.
