So after careful deliberation I have decided that instead of Manic Panicing my hair different coloured streaks and peekaboo highlights that I'd just use extensions, HOWEVER I can't seem to find any long enough...the longest I could find was 18" and idk if it'd look silly to try to blend into my length...I'd prefer not to buy online..does anyone know where I could get really long colourful (blue green purple pink) extensions for relatively cheap? I could ManPanic regular extensions but I think that'd end up costing a pretty penny.

Sorry, when I opened the thread I was thinking Ebay, but I see you don't want to buy online. I've seen cheapish colored extensions in the (fashion type) shops here (but I'm in London so that's irrelevant!) but you're right, they're shorter in length.

It's a good idea though, to use extensions as an alternative to dyeing strands.

I got a couple of purple ones (but they were from ebay) and they were 20" long. For the "unnatural" colored ones 20" seems to be around the longest length that are easily available.
I've seen "natural" colored extensions (only on web sites, I've never used them myself) in 26" length.

Anyway, not very helpful, but I hope someone else can give you more useful information!

here you go! She's a dream to work with and does custom lengths. I have mossy green clip ins that are as long as my fingertip length hair, and the cost was quite reasonable for the amazing quality :)

ETA: Whoops, missed the not wanting to buy online thing too :(

What I'm gonna propose might sound silly but.. :D Why don't you make your own "extensions"? I have this ongoing project - collecting my shed hairs into root-to-tip clusters. Once I have sufficient amount I will tie them up together and voila!. You can bleach them, color them the way you want them etc. The good thing is that they will be completely matching your length.

I know you don't want to purchase online, but I've been eyeing this Etsy seller for a while now.

She has 24" colored extensions.

How well does the texture work with your natural hair? I've been sort of-kind of contemplating something like this but thinking that straight extensions would look a little odd with my wave.

(Dammit, why did I even open this thread? I really don't need more items in my etsy favorites.)

It works great! If I put them in and damp bun them they wave just like the rest of my hair.

If you ask, she'll do them up to 48 inches, though of course the cost is a little higher :)

The bright colours in longer lengths are hard to find but you can always get blond human hair ones & dye them with manic panic if you cant find them as you want them.

This seller on ebay has tons of crazy colors, up to 24". These may not be long enough judging from your picture, but they are super cheap and maybe you could attach them near the base of your head.

I did this for a marathon braiding in hair from amphigory hair. All sorts of colors.
I really like the idea of making your own. I video on you tube what a teen girl explained a simple process of making clip ins.
