I have a bottle of Jasmine non-sticky coconut oil by Parachute. I've had the bottle for awhile now and when I first bought it I didn't check the ingredients first :( It's mostly made up of light mineral oil. I've read lots of articles against mineral oil and a few that said it's alright. I'm very hesitant to actual use this in my hair. Should I just use it for my body? Which side do you stand on and why?

Lots and lots of people here use regular mineral oil with great results. Give it a try.

I haven't done any research myself, but Ktani says it's good. :)

I would use it, after not conditioning my hair at all for a long time, my hair ended up super dry and just horrible I started using mineral oil on the advice of Ktani and it has done wonders for my hair.

Why not try? The worst case scenario is you'll have to clarify afterwards. Best case, you've found something that works.

The only one who can answer this question is your hair. Put some on and look at the results. Then tell us ;-) so we can learn from your experience, too. Each hair reacts differently, it's always great to see.

I understand where you're coming from. The idea of putting Mineral Oil on my hair sounded kinda scary to me. Well, after reading Ktani's article and various posts on the subject, I decided to give it a try

My hair loves it! I put two to three drops on my washed, wet hair (length, not scalp) and it makes it so soft and less tangly. Don't use too much! A little goes a long way. I started off by using around 20 drops and I looked like a grease ball. Not my most attractive look.

One study I read mentioned mineral oil does not penetrate into the hair shaft like coconut oil does. Any oil seems good to reduce friction and lessen tangles. But oils like coconut, avocado, argan and oilve oil actually go into the hair which is good for moisturising and 'feeding' your hair, rather than just sitting on it.
