I am about to order my first batches of henna and cassia, but I'mnot sure how much I sould buy.....

Does it keep well? Should I buy bulk to make it cheaper, or buy smaller amounts as I need them?

If it makes a difference, I'm buying Jamila henna, and the cassia from Henna Boy.

I usually buy six months' worth at a time. I only use henna, though, not cassia. I don't know much about cassia.

It doesn't go bad as such. Probably the henna will lose some of its staining power but that's about it. I've kept henna for years and still could use it with very good results.

I buy Jamila and cassia from Hennaboy too.
The henna has an expiry date on the packet, but the cassia doesn't.

I keep the henna in the fridge (both opened and unopened packets. The cassia is in a dark cupboard until opened and then in the fridge.

I always use the cassia up within 6 months though as I use henna/cassia on my roots and cassia on the length so I use more of it than the henna.

I follow directions from where I purchase from. I keep henna powder in the freezer(and paste).
Since I don't worry about staining with my cassia(and I have a small amount) I keep it in a drawer in my bathroom

I keep both , henna and cassia in the freezer as powder or paste. I use henna that I kept in the freezer for over five years and it still stains very dark red. I read here on the forums that someone kept her henna for 15 years and it was still staining fine. Henna is very potent stuff:applause
