There's nothing I like better than seeing people's progress pics! It's inspiring to see hair actually grow before my very eyes!
I'll show you mine if you show me yours :)

So here's mine. 25 inches, September2011;

http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/picture.php?albumid=8602&pictureid=115400

And 30 inches, March2012!

http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/picture.php?albumid=8602&pictureid=128166

They are links for now since I'm on an iPad and can't copy image location...oops

And how did you get 5 inches of growth in 6 months?

Clem_Dela
March 8th, 2012, 10:21 AM
Oops! I couldn't copy image location... So I linked to the images in my album. I'll fix it later when I log onto my laptop. Sorry!

To answer your question, when I first joined this site I went a little crazy with the different oils and deep conditions... So I had a growth spurt. It was stunted again however when i started ignoring my hair, i also think it may have been stunted due to stress, and I only gained an inch in the past three months or so. Hopefully I'll be growing again since I'm getting back into oiling and will even be hennaing soon.

Here's my progress from October to February. I got a trim a week ago though, so I don't I'm quite waist anymore. But I didn't trim for seven months.

Icallitbliss, I was using coconut oil. But I also made up some various deep conditions whic are probably what did the trick. You can find them if you look at my blog: I tried something different every weekend to every other weekend. Oh, I also used dr bronners shampoo, which if you look at the ingredients has a wide array of healthful oils. I also conditioned with an ACV/tea rinse. And finally, I gave up cones!

So does coconut oil help with hair growth? I was thinking about Castor Oil, but decided against that after I heard it *might* make your hair appear darker.

And what does ACV mean?

I get a constant 1" per month. I've cut off about four inches since April last year and still managed to get some good growth. My pictures are a few thread up from this.

castor oil is awesome. it only appears to darken the hair if you dont properly wash it out.

i'm glad this thread came alive a little bit!

icallitbliss, ACV is apple cider vinegar and it is great for conditioning. it gets rid of buildup and makes your hair really shiny, at least in my experience! the smell is hard to deal with though.

anyway i think i am having another growth spurt! My hair, according to the tape measure, grew two inches since that last photo.
hooray!

who else has some progress to share? :D

Yes, Vanilla, you must share your secret! :( My hair doesn't grow. :(

Sadly, I have no secrets. I didn't trim at all. It must have been a growth spurt. I finally got a trim last month and have refused to take a progress pic since I had trimmed it. Maybe I'll take a look tomorrow and post.

But like I said - no secrets here :(

Wow. You seriously have some of the most beautiful hair I've ever seen! Did your curls get looser as your hair got longer/heavier or are you styling it differently? And that is some serious growth in such a short time.

This thread is awesome! I'd never compare those two photos if it weren't fot this thread and now I'm glad I did :D

The first one if from the beginning of October - my first length picture after I've just joined TLHC, so please excuse the poor quality and anything - I was just starting. The second one is from just a couple of days ago. I think I do have some growth but I did cut a bit three times during this time - I'm trying to make my thin hemline look presentable.

Here is some growth about 1 year later after going into remission:

About 2 years after:
http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/9279/24785533.jpg

I cant seem to find any on this computer of anymore between stages. Maybe when my husband comes home I can edit them in.

And here is what I am at now, 11 years cancer free!:

Just after my chop in January -09:

And a few weeks back:

Not as much progress as I could've gotten since I trim regularly, but still.

I know I always say this but I really love your hair. Whenever I see it it reminds me of a cascading waterfall.

I agree pepperminttea! It's soo sooo pretty

:o Thank you both so much! :flowers:

It's not amazing, but it's mine. Started with layered, heavily highlighted/lowlighted hair, bleached it all, dyed with henna, now doing root touch ups with henna over my natural color, and just today had my ends dyed to match the roots (or close to it!) Thank goodness for pictures, otherwise I wouldn't believe my hair has grown at all! I had one or two small trims last year (since I started growing).

This is mine in a bit more than 13 months. Considerint that I've had the BSL stall for several months it's okay. Finally it's growing again. It went from not quite APL to almost waist. I'm 6' tall (183 cm).

That was March and April last year (with some good growth there that I attribute to the onion juice), hair there is water-only and in the last pic, that's my hair as of yesterday and not water-only anymore. And I have resumed the onion juice  ;)

Goal: . (http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7037/6957549412_1107cd5eed_o.jpg)

PS. Can't extend the freakin' red lines in GIMP, help. Shift doesn't work to draw a straight line.

Great recommend, I used to use Dr. Bronner's Peppermint, but thought it might be too harsh. I love this stuff and use it all the time. Next shampoo, Yes!! (mostly deep conditioning right now, damage repair).

Today, April 2012, (hip-length and hennaed too)

I love my annual winter growth spurt. :D I always seem to stall in summer though, so I'll likely be stuck going ultra-slow until August from now on. :o I'm relying on next years growth spurt to take me to TB!

Thanks! I was born a redhead, the natural color is a medium auburn now, so I'm just putting some henna over the auburn to make it a little darker and a little more red. You should see my baby brother's hair, BRIGHT flaming orange red hair, 5.5'' ponytail and nearly to his hips. Lol, I might be a little jealous.

April 2010 to April 2012
75cm to 94cm
Between the fourth and the fifth picture I had my shed, losing almost half of my hair (7,5cm ponytailcircumference to 5cm makes 55% less volume)
I am pretty happy with length and luckily I did not make a big chop during or right after my hairloss.

Actually I started in February 2010, with 73cm.

Your colour in that second picture is just beautiful, the dark at the bottom fading into rich red makes it look like flames!
