tl;dr: I got a trim for the first time in seven months. I love Chi Silk Infusion.

On Saturday, I got my first trim in seven months. I chose this unisex barber on my long haired friend's suggestion. Before the lady even touches my hair, I tell her I haven't trimmed in seven months. She goes off on how that is terribly bad for my hair and my hair will be in very poor condition and how I need to get it trimmed about once every 4-6 weeks. She tells me how she used to have very long hair and so she knows what she's talking about.

Well, she finally looks and starts combing my hair and is amazed. She said my hair is in the best condition she's ever seen for someone at my length. :D

She did a good job. She took off very little, just evening the bottom out a bit and making my ends a bit more smooth. I was unsure about my front (I've always had face framing layers) so for now she didn't touch them. I didn't touch up any of my older layers and they are really close to catching up with my length.

I never use a blow dryer, but I did let her use one. She was very gentle with my hair and didn't stay on one spot too long. Part of me figured I was spending the money, I might as well walk out happy. And my hair looks very nice when it's blow dried.

She used Chi Silk Infusions on my hair and I fell in love. It's been two days and I still haven't washed my hair. I don't want to wash it :( It looks so straight and shiny and sooooo silky. I know I will probably wash it tonight or tomorrow though. I bought the Chi Silk but I'm not sure how nice it will look if I don't blow dry. Maybe I'll try blow drying on the 'cool' setting.

CHI Silk Infusion is good on damp hair that is air drying as well.

When I did a search for Chi on the site, I found an old thread of yours! I was very happy that you liked it too. I had my doubts on whether it was too good to be true and could be damaging.

I'm glad to hear it works on damp air drying hair too.

Can you post me the link to the thread? Does chi silk contains silicones?

I think this (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=36556) is the thread. And yes, lots of them. :D

Let your hair air dry until it's damp then apply the chi silk infusion sparingly on the length only and let it air dry more until it's almost dry then begin brushing it out gently until it's completely dry. If you have relatively straight hair this can give you a smooth blow out effect w/o heat. The style of your hair is set in the time it completely dries from being wet. This works for me maybe give it a try?

I usually use Argan oil , but when I want some cones I use Chi silk on my damp hair and let it air dry. It works great! It makes my hair so soft and shiny :D

I add a drop of camellia oil to a couple drops of Chi and use it on damp ends - my hair loves it.

If I want to blow-dry, I will generally apply coconut oil to the bottom half of my length, then some CHI over that. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh; such good results!

I <3 Chi Silk Infusion. I use it on wet hair, dry hair, before heat, after heat.

BUT get in near my scalp and I'm a grease ball. Less is more with this baby.

This is how I feel. Ahhh, so tempted to buy a bottle and try it. I stopped blow-drying my hair years ago, but it's 1b and while the slight wave is nice for volume, sometimes I just want it to be stick straight.

So tempted. *twitch twitch*

I used to use this stuff all the time when I blow dried my hair on a daily basis. It left my hair soft, sleek and smooth. I used to blow dry until 90% dry and then pulled my hair straight with a round BBB. I used a quarter sized amount on my BSL hair.

I reduced the amount that I put on my hair by half when I wasn't blow drying. My hair didnt look exactly as good as when I used it to blow dry, but it did do a good job of separating my waves when I scrunched my hair.
