I was looking around for hair on youtube and fell over this one (http://youtu.be/gC4VEFoilos)

And got to try it on DD - it's not that difficult, but I think her hair should have been damp - or at least more freshly washed :p
And I would try and ceep it more tight another time. But here is my attempt:

Disregard mess on table ;)

Yet another hairstyle that my hair is probably too short to do. I'll have to check it out when I get home.

It doesn't have to be all that long - hers are about APL

Looks like itd be hard to do on oneself, but I may try anyway. I need my own personal hair dresser.

I tried to do this on myself once, but I ran out off hair before I finished braiding all the way around, so I gave up. I might try again some day though because I really like it :D

Getting the "neverending" look on yourself is probably a bit tricky. But a lot of this style is knowing how to do lace braiding... and lace braids are nowhere near as hard as they look. They're a super-duper handy trick for keeping shorter hair out of your way too, since they don't need tons of length to work well, and they cope better than most sorts of braids with layering.

Torrin Paige has a lace braided headband tutorial, and that's what I used to learn lace braiding. Once you can actually do lace braids and have worked out how braids tend to turn due to how your hair is parted, it's pretty easy to do a lace crown braid. And not just easy in terms of how the braid works... easy in terms of length too. IIRC for most people a lace crown braid is doable when they've got hair a smidge longer than their head measures around.

Oh she has lovely hair! It does look hard but still, could I see the link? :)

That look amazing, so well done! I think I'd have a hard time getting it centred if I tried it on myself, even if I somehow learned how to french braid (no luck yet).

It's actually easier on shorter hair - I can do mine at not shoulder - than long - J's waist curly, knee pulled straight has too much for this to work.

Wow, very pretty! I don't think I'm coordinated enough to do it on myself though.

Are there any videos where someone uses the reverse hand holding position? I can never understand what people are trying to show when their hands are all up in my face like that.
