It was kinda windy today, and I wanted to do something I don't normally do with my hair. So I decided to try something a bit odd: a four-piece braid, one of the pieces being a bandana. It took a while, but I'm really happy with how it came out.

I'm really happy with it. It's so cute and funky, and it's really comfortable. Definitely doing this more often.

That is really neat...I could never get those to stay in my hair without slipping. :(

I love your hair color :D

Sooo pretty! I love it! I do this with my daughter's hair sometimes and she always gets compliments on it!

I love it! :) I've done this before, but with ribbon because my hair is a) thinner/finer and b) now all that long ;)

That's an awesome way to do a braid, I seriously can't wait until my hair is longer so I can try this out! My hair is to my shoulders and has too many annoying layers. It is so HARD to try and keep in a braid without it slipping out because of the layers.

Good idea. I like to braid thin scarves or ribbons into my hair, too.

Yes, I braided a banana into my hair. Hahaha xD seriously though, I'm so glad I'm not the only one who misreads things like that.

^ You should! And post pics. :D

Just make sure that whatever piece of fabric you decide to use is AT LEAST 6 inches longer than the length of your hair, so you can secure it at both ends.

Ah that's good to know, though I'm not sure I've ever seen a a bandana that long though O_o I think I'm going to try it with a regular braid (don't have your skill ;)) do you start with the bandana folded in half so you have to ends at the bottom?

If you have shorter hair you probably could. I just rolled mine up length-wise until it was one long strip of fabric.

I'm nearly tailbone length at the moment (with horrifyingly thin ends but none the less) so I doubt that will work, but I'm having difficulty envisioning how it would stay up at the top?

You take a scrunchie and put the bandana/ribbon partially through it, then tie your hair into a low pony tail. And then just wrap a little bit of the fabric around it to hide the scrunchie.

Ah, that makes sense thanks ^_^ doesn't work with my trying to avoid elastics plan though xD Ah well, it looks so cute it's worth a shot =)

Let me know how it goes! :D Just put roughly 6 inches through the scrunchie... just enough to tie it around the top of the ponytail.

I cannot do a four piece braid to save my life (that and my hair is too short right now to practice) but it looks awesome!

If I get around to trying it with my current school schedule I'll try to post pictures on this thread ^_^ thanks for the instructions!
