I stalked this before I had DD, who is now 2 1/2. Well after having her I had a bad shed and cut it chin length. I hated it now have it about BSL, with awful bangs that I regret!!! I am looking for some ideas to help with not cutting it and conditioning treatments.
I think I remember something about smowy;s treatment. 2 part condtioner and 1 part honey heated and wrapped up for an hour or so??
Please any help would be awesome. I also want to let my DD grow her out as well. She has 3a/f/i hair, baby soft white blonde ringlets!!! LOVE IT!!!! It is shoulder length, but tighten up a ton and has lots of layers!!

Hello, and welcome to the forum. :)

There are many ingredients lying about your kitchen that make excellent deep conditioning treatments, help with oilings and general hair care. I personally love olive and coconut oils for deep conditioning, with coconut oil applied to the ends of my damp hair to give slip and prevent tangles.

If you want to give your hair a fresh start, you could begin with clarifying (using a clarifying shampoo or baking soda mixed with warm water), using diluted AVC or lemon juice as a rinse to adjust your scalp pH, and THEN do a deep conditioning treatment for your hair to soak up.

Sadly, the only way to figure out what works for your hair is through experimentation, as no two heads are alike! Do you care to share your current routine so that maybe everyone can give more accurate/related advice?

I use tea tree shampoo( i have a really itchy scalp), the knock off Paul Mitchell stuff from sally's. I use a tresseme conditioner. I have tried to go sulfate and cone free in the past, but it doesn't work for my hair. I feel slimy with out the sulfates and very coarse with out the cones. I try to do a CWC routine with my hair. And if I have time a good treatment a week. I try not to over process my hair, but I end up with it a pile on my head most of the time.

For my DD, I CO with whatever c we have on hand and use a leave in that I have concocted!
