Can you please help me classify my hair type? Can it be considered APL?

I think your hair is about 1 inch above APL, and probably 2A.

Almost APL, are you sure it's 'i'? Looks thicker.
I can agree with 2a :)
It's pretty!

I'd say 2a, ii. And at APL

Thank you.

Well, it appears ii because it is freshly washed, hence more volume. But the minute I put it into a ponytail or sleep on it, I can easily classify it as i. How do you classify i vs ii, is it based on circumference of ponytail?

I say 2a as well and another inch til APL

You do classify thickness by pony tail in inches. Below is more detail

i: 0- 1.5
i/ii: 1.5-2.5
ii: 2.5-3.5
ii/iii: 3.5-4.5
iii: 4.5 +

Hope this helps :)

I would say 1c-2a, ii, and maybe an inch or less above APL. Wait about two months and I think you'll be at a solid APL! :flower:

Ok, I measured my ponytail and its about 2.5 inches. So, I am i/ii or ii? I'm so glad that I'v moved up from i :). Actually I realized that my pony tail circumference is not too bad but the hair ends are kinda dry when I put it into ponytail making it look gross. Probably I should finally get a humidifier. The weather is terribly dry.

I agree with ii. Isn't i/ii supposed to be like 1.5-2.49?

For the ponytail thing... most of us have some day to day variation. It is not cut and dried, and measurements always have a bit of error one way or another. My hair ranges from around 2.5 on up to 3.0 inches, so I classify myself as a plain ii. Someone who ranged from 2.25 to 2.75 might make the other call and go for i/ii. Mostly tho, I'd argue for the ii, unless the person was having a really easy time getting updos to work at really short lengths... that's the main reason for the thickness classifier. Someone with a iii thickness might need more than a foot of extra length to do a style compared to me, especially ones that really eat length.
