I've always been told that I need bangs (mother). Also that I couldn't grow long hair. Well the hair thing is out the window, so I'm wondering if the bangs thing should be too. What do you think? Here are a few pics, not the best , but should give you an idea.

So is Mom right? Do I look better with bangs or without?

Well maybe Mom was right. It will take a quick blow dry to get my bangs to lay down.

I think you can totally rock no bangs!

I like how your bangs look where you are using the white carrier. I think a wispy bang is good for the shape of your face and the structure of your forehead. :)

Personally I think that you would look good with and without bangs. My mother has had bangs for as long as I can remember but a year or so ago she decided to let her bangs grow out. She looked wonderful!! But she missed her bangs so when she got her hair cut again she had them cut bangs in. Anyways though I think you would look good without bangs!

My mom used to get me gathered waist bands on pants to try and "hide" by big butt as stated by my family.

Lots has changed since I was a kid. They now have clothes for petite people, for one, so now I no longer look like a baby with a loaded diaper.

Mom's statements are an opinion.

Why is the longer hair out the window? It's unclear to me why you've apparently given up before really getting started. It will be different, absolutely. But I don't think you have to give up on it.

You don't look bad in bangs. I don't know how high or low your forehead is and what you might look like without bangs. So it's hard to say one way or the other as there's no comparison I can make with no bangs.

I think you'd look best with the darker hair that is in your picture with the white baby carrier, and no bangs.. or just side bangs.. I don't think you "need" bangs at all to look great! :)

I think the bangs in the third picture are the most flattering look on you :).

And sorry for the OT, but is that a Lexi twist with the kangaroo carry in the white wrap? And I also like your dyed fishies!

I think you can go either way. I really like the bangs you have styled in the white kangaroo carrier.

You have beautiful hair.

I think you pull off both looks very well. I do like the bangs in the pic with the white carrier, but you look very nice without as well. I think it comes down to your personal preference. I also love your baby carriers! They are awesome. When I have a baby some day I want some! Where does one find them?

I think you look nice either way. I was always told I need bangs too. I don't think anybody needs them, it's just a personal opinion. If you want to grow them, go for it! You can always cut them again if you don't like it.:)

You misunderstood me. I meant that I'm going to grow my hair out whether or not other think I should. This has me reconsidering whether to keep my bangs or not. Part of it is that it would be easier to grow them out now since I'm growing everything else out rather than later once hair is long. Let me see if I can find a pic with my bangs pulled all the way back.

Thanks. Yes it is a lexi twist and the wrap is a silk indio. Partially that picture looks better because my photographer sister took it.

I think you look your best in the third pic. It's a very becoming style on you. Bangs have my vote hands down. Cute baby btw, very photogenic!

The funny thing is my hair is the same color. I haven't colored my hair in 4 years. It must all be differences in lighting.

I think you honestly look best in the pic with the red necklace, blue shirt, and white baby carrier.
Longer hair and those specific bangs very much suit you. :)

I think you look great without the bangs, personally, but you should pick what makes you happiest. You can always start growing them out, and if you realise you don't like the new look you can cut them. I can't say I have any experience with bangs, since my own hair is far too wavy/frizzy to pull something like that off.

I vote that you go with what makes you feel the most beautiful. Because you are with both but it doesn't matter what I think, it matters how you feel about your own hair.

I agree with spidermom. Maybe just a little more side-swept? Looks great like that though too!

I like both actually, with or without bangs. It's just a matter of what you most prefer, and it's not about what your mother said.

I would like to see what you look like with a sideswept bang style. You look great with the bangs as they are, but if you don't want to maintain them (I didn't!) then a side part and sweeping the majority across your forehead might be a good compromise. It's also a good way to get them out of the way (with a little clip or two) when you're growing them out.

The nice thing about bangs... if you try growing them out and you decide you look better with them, you just get them cut! :)

I vote for grow them out and see. That third pic is very pretty though. I loved seeing all the slings. Brought back my baby wearing days :)

I think both the side-swept and the piecey bangs look good on you. I'm afraid I tend to agree with your mum, about bangs, at least. These are nice photos!

Question: How much damage will I do if I blow dry the bangs only? This is the only way they lay down. I have a cowlick on the right side. The pics of the bangs pushed to the side is what they do if left alone.

Are a sling girl myself - mostly Mei tai these days.

I actually love you with the little longer hair and white carrier! Don't get it why you've been told that you can't have a long hair!

btw i have a high forehead myself as well. At this particular moment i have no bangs. I think you could wear eather you like.

Bangs are a great look for you. It's hard to pull off the blunt bangs, but you do it naturally, lucky goose!

I blowdry and flat iron my fringe several times a week and I haven't seen a split yet. It's new hair and it tends to be trimmed before damage can really accumulate. I think you'll be fine.

Yay for babywearing!! I'm the worst person to give fashion advice, but I think long sideswept bangs would look pretty.

You look great with bangs. I think either way -- with bangs or without -- would be a great look for you.

If you need uncomplicated hair restraint or face washing, though, being without bangs will your routines simpler.

My hair is at the lower side of ii thickness classification, and it has marked taper along the length. If I had bangs, the rest (the longer hair) would be even thinner.

I think you could rock it either way! Go with what makes you the most comfortable.

Blow drying bangs isn't a big deal since they're short. Damage gets cut off before it becomes serious. I sometimes straighten my bangs to make them behave.

I think it looks good either way, but am biased to fringes since they frame the face.
