To make that clearer, I'm looking for inspirational pics of ladies with long silver hair that also happen to have a fringe. I've searched and found plenty with short hair, but not too many with long.

Yes, once again I'm considering cutting in a fringe. I guess I'm just bored. I have a very long grow-out ahead of me (to get to 100% virgin silver hair) and would like to be able to fuss with something when I have my hair up. I wear my hair up 99.9% of the time, so fussing with something would be good ;)

I've had a fringe before, and the plan this time is to get the same style (side swept) and to clip it up whenever the rest of my hair is down. I have wurly hair, so the fringe looks better clipped back when the rest of my hair is down. When my hair is up, I would style the fringe to the side, maybe blow-dry it (OMG!! lol) or clip it up as the mood takes me.

Soooo...I'm looking for pics to inspire me. I'm also looking for DIY fringe cutting vids or links if anybody would like to share :)

Thanks :flowers:

Hi, Rini! Your hair is beautiful the way it is. But I understand wanting to fuss with something when your hair is up. I need bangs to cover the wide expanse of my forehead. Here's one of the ways I wear mine.

Be careful; you don't have a lot of thickness to spare for bangs.

My hair isn't silver (well some of it is), but I had bangs about a year and a half ago and I really loved them. However, with my hairtype, which is close to yours, I prefer the longer bangs. I love showing off my waves. :)

I think something along these (http://www.mlo.me/upen/v/201003/Silver-Grey-Women-scm-Long-And-Wavy-Fashion-Wig-With-Fringe-24556-1.jpg) lines would really suit you :)

Gosh, I can't wait to have gorgeous silver locks! If I get my great-grandmother's genes on my mom's side, I'll have gorgeous silver white hair in my 60s, but if I take after my mom's mom, I'll be lucky to have individual silver strands when I'm almost 70. Sorry I can't contribute a good photo idea, but OP, I wanted to tell you how gorgeous your hair is, and how incredibly pretty you are.

MzBANGBANG: great links! Thanks :)

HonestWitness: My goodness your hair is lovely :inlove: Thanks for a pic of your bangs, they do look cute!

spidermom: yes, I hear you. I am conscious of losing some thickness to bangs, which is why I haven't done it yet.

uptosomeone: There are lots of wigs that are long and silver with a fringe aren't there?

PixxieStix: Oh, thank you so much! :flowers: You're very sweet.

turtlelover: You are a good model for the silver hair with a fringe look :) Your hair is lovely!

Thanks girls....stockpiling the pics. Still not really sure if I'll go through with this yet.

This is my mom. She's had the same bangs her entire life and cuts them herself - they're super easy to maintain. :)

Selenechiba, thanks so much for sharing these photos of your lovely mom. I always appreciate seeing non-celebrity silver sisters with long hair. She's a rare jewel!

I think you've seen it, but my sister--

http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/picture.php?albumid=7617&pictureid=125418

She has full bangs instead of sideswept, but she's silvering.

My MIL has long sideswept bangs and the dye is almost completely gone now. I'll link you to a pic when I get a new one of her.:)

Every time I see beautiful bangs like these I get instant envy. Then I have to remind myself these women are mostly straight-haired, and these bangs would look more than a little funky with whurls sticking out on each side! It's the only downside to my hair being healthy now--I can't rock bangs like I used to.

But I love love love seeing all the fabulous silver.

I honestly think that MOST people look better and younger with some sort of bangs unless they have an oval supermodel face. The only irritating thing about bangs is having to trim them all the time -- I despise having hair in my eyes, and can't tolerate the trendy side bangs that everyone suggests, so it seems I am constantly chopping at them to keep them OUT of my eyes and somewhat blended in w/ the rest of my hair without looking either TOO blunt or too 80s-ish. (Yes, I cut my own hair.) Be really, really sure before you cut them, because they are a pain to grow out!

I LOVE her fringe!! :inlove: It's what I would have if I could (but I think her hair is thicker than mine and if I cut mine that thick then I'd have a seriously small pony circumference as a result!!).

Turtlelover, although you look adorable with your fringe, I don't think I look better with a fringe personally. The reason I'm considering it now is because it would give me something to style and I'm a bit bored. I would need to go side-swept and not too blunt (I have a very pointy chin/heart-shaped face) and would cut them myself too. Yay for home hair cuts!! hehe

Here's one of Emmylou Harris - http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Emmylou_Harris_2006_1.jpg

Helen Mirrin and Meryl Streep both pull off some lovely silver-haired looks, but they tend to go shorter unfortunately. (Meryl Streep's wavy side-parted bright-white look in Devil Wears Prada? So awesome! It's short, though. What I wouldn't give to age as gracefully and beautifully as she has, though!)

Rini, you have one of those perfect oval faces I was talking about, so you don't really need one!!!;)
