Does anyone have or know of anything that will help beat the humidity. I can't do anything with my hair in this awful humidity!
Thanks

Lol I was thinking the same thing. It is the only bulletproof way. There may be more ways, but it's serious trial and error.

I've found myself looking forward to winter just so my hair will be manageable!

Four words. Dabur Vatika hair oil. I have 2c/3a hair and live in Iowa. I completely understand about turning into a poodle. I like to let it just start to air dry, and then rub some in. When you play with it enough times, especially every day, you perfect the method to just enough oill that it's not greasy, but perfectly defined. :)

I wear updos mostly when it's humid but if I do wear it down, a lot of leave-in, coconut oil and gel scrunched out only when it's completely dry help the most for me. Nexxus Humectress is a good leave-in when it's humid I remember.

Goth Rosary as a leave-in and lots of misting has helped me when it's hot and humid.
Sadly, it is more often than not cold and humid here. I wish we had your weather, then I wouldn't be walking around in Uggs and a wool sweater in the middle of July!

I found that nothing felt better than a wet bun/french braids. I love putting my hair in wet french braids because your head stays "cool" for a long time.

I had been going cone-free until the Alabama summer hit; now I'm using a conditioner with cones, and a "silk" cone leave-in product, and having to wash more.
And lots of updos--

I think if you keep it as moisturized as possible then the hair will absorb less water from the air (which is what causes frizz). So leave-ins and oilings would probably help, although, as Riot Crrl said, updos are the only bullet-proof way of totally eliminating frizz

I find braids to be great, especially wet braids.

Jojoba oil and bun. I also use a little mousse to tame the canopy frizzies.

When it gets really humid and my hair kinks up, I do 1 of two things: spritz it with water and put it in an updo, or let it go. Letting it go means learning to embrace my wavy/curlies. :silly:
