I just started to grow my hair at the end of Summer.I had a stacked hairstyle basically to my chin.My problem is I have not cut my hair in like 8 months but my hair is only down to my collarbone area now:(I am not sure why it is taking so long!IDK maybe I am just impatient:rolleyes another thing is that my hair is pretty damaged and broke off from a heat tool I was using not using it anymore! But it seems that is keeping my hair from growing I have been taking HSN(Hair,Skin and Nail) vitamins and vitamin B also been using anti breakage shampoo. So does anyone have any suggestions for me?Thanks so much!My goal is to get my hair at least to my chest area!

Do you dye it? Blow-dry it?
Have you tried oiling it?

Welcome to the Long Hair Community, jewelsdueces!
To protect your hair, stay away from straighteners/hot curlers/curling irons/blowfryers/bleach.
To protect the delicate ends while sleeping, many here use silk pillowcase covers.
Be sure that the products you're using are hair friendly.
Scalp massage in the bent at the waist position helps with blood circulation among the hair follicles and nourishes your scalp.
Keeping your hair free of tangles with a wide tooth comb helps minimalize damage from having to detangle.
Treating your hair gently when shampooing and rinsing can help a lot!
Unless you can't avoid it, wash your hair only once a week. Daily washing can strip your hair of its natural oil and leave it like straw.
Eat a healthy diet, drink plenty of water, get enough rest, exercise moderately. Trim the ends periodically to get rid of damage.
Wearing your hair up protects the ends.
Brushing daily..with a boar bristle brush exercises the hair follicles, removes dirt/lint, and gives your hair a beautiful shine and softness (over time). Always be sure to detangle before brushing!
And never, EVER, brush your hair when it is wet.
Good luck on your hair journey!

I have the same problem just like you. I cut my hair in June 2011 into a bob & I just want my long hair to grow back. I am aiming for below my arm pit by the end of May start of June it is now 2 cm below my shoulder & I have basically tried everything to get it to be healthy and grow.
