Im brand new to henna and have decided, after much research, that I'm going to purchase henna from HennaSooq for both myself and my daughter to experiment with.
My problem is deciding two things...
Firstly, which type of henna to use to obtain the color results we desire.
Secondly, determining whether each of us needs to use just henna or a henna blend.
For myself, my hair color is currently somewhere between dark golden blond and light golden brown when looked at in bright light. I'm hoping to achieve a light-medium brown with a red shimmer. Less orange/copper, more wine red. I'd love to be able to do just henna but I'm not sure if it would give me the right results.
My daughter has soft black, dark golden brown hair depending on the light. She'd like to achieve a black with red look...for lack of better explanation.
Any suggestions or advice on what to use from HennaSooq to try to get these results?
Anyone that uses her products is welcome topmost pics of their hair and a description of what you use to achievve the look.
Thanks!

It would be easier with pictures...
But to add red tones to already black hair, pure henna can do that. Maybe on a few applications over time if once is not enough.
To have more "red wine", usually you need more than one application, again : over time. The first will give orange tones, then darker and darker the more henna you use (but think well about your growth... inevitably, it will be darker at the ends and more orange near the scalp so be sure that more orange tones around your face doesn't botter you !)
Before, I used a mix of katam 40 % and Moroccan Henna 60 % - or pure henna sometimes (many times over the years) and achieved somewhat a red wine color down the lenght. But the color never suited my face (the orange tones). And the lenght got too dark for my liking.
I love henna, the ritual, the condition of my hair after, etc. but decided to grow it out because I found out that my natural "cool" color suits me better.
Have fun !
And ask Khadija of Henna Sooq anything, she is so sweet and she really takes to time to tell you what you should do to acheive what you want.
And STRAND TEST ! :)

Ok so it's a crazy, frizzy & highly unplanned picture of my first updo that I took about a month back but I added a pic album in my profile so you can check & see my starting color.
My kiddo is a bit uncomfortable having me put her pic up but if it helps she is of mixed ethnic background (mainly Caucasian & African) so it's pretty dark but not a 'solid' or 'cool' black if that makes any sense. Outside in sunlight or under bright lights it definitely looks a shade or so lighter than black.

Thanks!I'm new to henna myself and haven't done my whole head yet, but I've received samples from Henna Sooq and can't say enough about their customer service so far. Like Maktub said, Khadija is SO helpful. They even threw in a little sample shampoo bar with my henna samples!!
I think for yourself, as a blonde, you may have to do a little mixing to achieve anything other than orangey ride. I haven't researched henna mix recipes much just because I myself am planning on doing 100% henna because I am a medium brown. I believe it's HennaHut that has pre-made mixes for different colors. One of our users did a very well-documented strand test on this thread... http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=65946&highlight=henna+strand+test
Good luck with your research, I wish I had more to offer. Make sure you post pictures!! We love those here!!! :D
