I always had a rather straight head of hair until a couple of years ago, and since then I've treated my hair as if it still was straight, except that I started co-ing about a year and a half ago and it helped, gave me more defined waves.

My rutin is wash about once a week, let it air dry, detangle it with a bb-brush or my tangle teezer and I use coconutoil alot.
Wear it up during the day and sleep with a braid.

So I'm as lost as a lamb in the woods, and the advice I've been given elsewhere so far is to hair unfriendly for me, the only thing I know is that I want no heat and chemicals in my hair!

So what do you recommend?
I'm interested in everything from how to wash it and what to use washing it, to detangling methods and anything else you can come up with!

Here is some pics to help you.

My hair still pretty wet:

Nearly almost dry:

And last, dry and just newly let out of my sleepbraid:

And one last thing, I just guess the hairtyping info when joined :blushing:, so what would you say my hair is?

I hope you guys has some really good advice and I'm greatful to anyone who answers. :cheese:

Your texture seems very similar to mine so I would guess you might be 2b.

Please, for the sake of your hair, detangle with a wide tooth comb BEFORE using a brush or your TT.

Take small, thin sections, and starting at the ends, gently comb up the strands, little by little, until you reach the roots.

Here's my hair friendly, gentle way to air dry your hair in less than one hour:

Thank you Shesta, my guess was a 2b/2c. :)

Thank you so much Madora I will take it to heart, and you don't want to know what I used to brush my hair with just this last summer!
Just an ordinary plastic brush 5 bucks worth, I'm embarressed to say! :run:

I'm guessing 2a/2b, maybe 2b.

What you could do is leave in some of your conditioner, and use some kind of alcohol-free gel (or even a mousse) to define those waves a little more.
