Cool close-up pics of my hair!

I took a couple of super-close up pictures of my hair because I wanted to use one for my avatar pic. (I've seen a couple other avatars or sig pics like that and I thought they were so cool! Hope nobody minds that I copied their ideas... ;))

The close-ups turned out really cool (Well, I think so anyway :D), so I thought I would share!

Here is my hair fresh out of a box braid, combed out and oiled:

And here is my hair right after a wash, dried naturally, and combed out. It is conditioned but not oiled yet:

Mine is my avatar. It's doesn't usually look so golden/yellow, though. I just liked how it had turned out for a length shot and cropped it.

Mine is my signature pic. Artificial curls, achieved using spiral perm rods on slightly damp hair, left in all day, then gently separate by hand :)

Hmm, the originals on my computer are bigger I think... I had to shrink them so they could fit in my album. I will play around with it and see if I can figure out how to get the bigger ones on here :D

Hee, that split end was actually the reason why I grabbed my camera and started doing macro shots. It was definitely a sight to behold. I meant to snip it after I'd taken the picture but lost it, so it's probably still in there somewhere, being epically split.

schweedie had suggested that we make an "official" macro/close up shots thread. What do you guys think? I'm not sure how a thread becomes "official," does it need a certain number of responses or anything? :shrug:
