It was after midnight and I was about to go to sleep last night when I did. I had laid down on my cotton pillowcase and thought for the millionth time how nice it would be to have a real silk pillocase. I think it was because I was tired, but with twenty minutes I'd located one on Amazon and purchased it. For $25! EEEEK! That's far more than I ever, ever spend on hair stuff, especially when I could have made one myself from a thrift store silk nightgown! I'm happy too though, because it'll look nice and be of good quality.

I have a feeling this is the beginning of the end as far as actually having extra money goes. ;)

I have a satin pillowcase and I love it for the comfort alone. The benefits for my hair are just a plus. I hope you enjoy yours!

You just gave me the best idea! I just bought a pure silk skirt from the thrift store and it being a size 4 and me being a size 8 is just not happening. lol For some reason I thought I could squeeze into it. It's a long black silk dream but I'm now debating wheather I should alter it or just make it into a pillow case! What do you think? hmmmm *thinking hard* Oh and congrats on the purchase!!

I love mine. It cuts down a lot on lint in my hair, and my hair feels softer and is less tangly in the morning than it used to be. We probably have the same ones since I got mine for $25 on Amazon. I just ordered a second one. :) I hope you love yours as much as I love mine!

I avoid my trimming scissors and Etsy/Amazon after 11:00 for just this reason. :p

It's okay, I used to spend mass amounts of cash on hair stuff in the past.... You'll love the pillowcase though, I promise. Silk is my favorite :crush:.

Thanks for reminding me! A purchase that I have been meaning to make for some time now but just haven't yet. Tax return will be coming soon though and that is one thing I have to put on my list! :)

I bought one too! (If it makes you feel any better ;)) Been meaning to do so for awhile and this post prompted me to look into it. They post to Australia for like $2.50. Win.

If your hair is quite long it will protect it more than the pillow case :cheese:

I would think of it as an investment piece...It will make you happy in the long run by being kind to your hair. Plus, it should last for years!

You will love your silk pillowcase. Once you own one you can use it as a "pattern" to make more from thrift store silk if you still want to. So see what a good deal you made? You'll have a silk pillowcase AND a pattern!

This site (http://www.dharmatrading.com/html/eng/1384272-AA.shtml) has silk pillowcases even cheaper than Amazon and they are of very good quality.

I don't think I'm going to regret it at all! It just arrived (three days early!!) and I'm excited to go to sleep tonight to see how my hair fares in the morning. It's so soft I imagine it'll feel much better.

I like this thought! I'm going to start looking at goodwill for a silk nightie so I can make a pillowcase for my other pillow with my $25 pattern. ;) :D
