Hello !

I would like to learn hairdos covered with scarves. They look lovely to me, and I'd like to protect more my hair from sun, cold, wind and others.
But I don't know how to do it properly, when I do it, it slips or get ugly ! :o

So if some of you could help me, or just post nice pictures for me to get inspired, that would be great ! :)

I've been doing this a lot lately:

http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/picture.php?albumid=8162&pictureid=122920

It actually seems to keep my head a bit warmer.

ETA All it is a regular U pin bun with the scarf wrapped around the base and tied on.

Have you seen this page (http://www.tznius.com/cgi-bin/tying.pl)? A couple crossed bobby pins above the ears do wonders, as does wearing something stretchy under the main scarf. You can buy little stretchy cloth hoods to wear underneath, though I'd bet that those wide, stretchy fabric headbands would work too.

Have any of you tried buff's?

Katserevenge : really nice ! :)

Renbird : Thank you for the link and tips !

W2 : It may sound like a stupid question but... What is buff ? :o (I've got an excuse, English is not my first language :D)

A buff is sort of a cloth tube, you can wear in a lot of ways

Hey! I did a bun that I wrapped a scarf around and I made a thread about it here. You just reminded me!! I said I'd upload a video of me wrapping it to show how I did it but I COMPLETELY forgot. I promise I'll record one tomorrow after my driving lesson in the afternoon though to show you :D Here it is:

First one : no upo, just 4 braids contained in the back by the scarf
http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/picture.php?albumid=4850&pictureid=106350

Second one : braided bun, held by 2 sticks (you can see some pointy things under the scarf), then everything wrapped up

And so I tried to make a bun covered in the buff. First I just braided and made a cinnabun without anything to tie it up with. Then used the buff first just around the base and then over the bun.

Not bad - wore it that way last night, just on top of my head instead.

Well this is more a hijab style, but you might find some of her techniques useful:
Here she does a tutorial with blue scarves.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=60rUfJjtNCs

She has many vids and many different styles and even a shop where you can buy the scarves, so there should be enough there.
