Most dangers are associated with PPD.

Semi permanents don't have PPD in them.

That's why it's always important to do skin tests folks!

I used one last summer (Schawzkopf Live Cosmic Purple) and it made all my tattoos come up. Even though my youngest was a year old at that time. It made all the black lines come up and itch like crazy! That's why they say that having tattoos can increase the risk of an allergic reaction - some of the cheap black inks contain PPD.

Strangely, i've got a tattoo done here in China that used a Thai brand of black ink and that was the only one that didn't itch.

So lesson two: If you're being tattooed and you dye your hair regularly, check the ingredients on the black ink bottle.
