I just tried a Vinegar rinse for the first time this evening and found that it didnt clean my roots as much as I thought it would.
I use Conditioner every day when I shower... So im kind of a CO girl... With a mix of clarifying once or twice a week... Im looking to replace Shampoo because I feel its too drying.

My questions here are...

What can I use to replace shampoo as a clarifier once or twice a week?

Would Vinegar be the replacement?

If so, how often can I use vinegar without damaging my hair?

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

I use vinegar once a month.

I didn't think vinegar was damaging. Use it in the right ratio, about 1/2 TB in a cup.
It is acidic, so it will let your hair scales lie down flat, which will actually make it look shinier and lock in more moisture. :)

Here are 2 articles that may help you understand details.

Vinegar, http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/vbjournal.php?do=article&articleid=184

Clarifying, http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/vbjournal.php?do=article&articleid=224

The bottom line is that a vinegar rinse can help remove mineral deposits, not product build-up.

You should not need to clarify your hair as often as you are doing. Using a lighter conditioner for conditioner only washing should help and clarifying can be done every so often instead.

I don't think vinegar can clarify- but baking soda can! vinegar is really a conditioner/shine enhancer. I use ACV during my washes or at the end. I use undiluted ACV on my scalp, and use diluted on my length. I use it almost every wash.

Be careful using baking soda every day. I love it but use it diluted every couple of months. You may be different, just look for drying effects.
