Second LHC anniversary! (Several pictures)

It just occurred to me that I missed my LHC anniversary by several days! On 3 January 2010 I joined LHC after about two months of lurking. I used to dye my hair red. It became too hard to do on my own because the white roots would never look the same as the repeatedly dyed length no matter what I did, so I began spending too much money having it dyed in a salon.

In 2010 I decided to stop dyeing my hair and embrace my natural silver colour. Since I've never had very long hair anyway, I decided to make it easier on myself by having it cut into an asymmetrical bob - making it look like an intentional style rather than "I'm letting it go" - and then continuing to get trims until finally chopping it into a pixie.

It seemed to take forever to grow it out of the pixie, but when I compare the growth over a year, it wasn't bad.

One thing I've learned about my silver hair is that the way it looks will really depend on the lighting and even wall colours around me. Here's the colour outside on a sunny day.

My hair is healthier than it's been since I was a child, thanks to what I've learned from LHC. When I look at the first few photos with the dye, I see damage, dryness, and a colour that clashed with my complexion. Now I see the waves coming out and a beautiful silver that enhances the way I look. I don't know if I ever would've learned about how to wash my hair with conditioner. Thanks to the Renegreys in particular for the support in embracing my natural hair.

For those who mentioned the stockings, they're thigh-high socks from Sock Dreams (http://www.sockdreams.com/products/socks/thigh-highs/super-stripes). I also have some in grey and black. They're really comfortable and fairly warm. Yesterday we were having a warm day for winter, so I finally got to wear them.

Heh ! That's cool :) I love the Prunes, especially If I Die I Die, and The Moon Looked Down & Laughed. When I was a teen it was the Prunes, Bowie and New Model Army all the way ! I don't often come across a fellow fan. When I went to Dublin on honeymoon in 2004 I bought the entire back catalogue :cheese:
