where to buy shampoo bars in the uk

just wondering where to buy shampoo bars in the uk? i'm interesting in buying some of the brands i've heard being talked about on here, like lush, cv etc....

i've had a look on etsy, and the postage to the uk is ridiculous.

anyone know where i can buy these in the uk, or alternativily with cheap postage to the uk?

i don't want to end up spending as much on the bar as i have on postage.

This is an issue that I have too! I've been wanting to try shampoo bars, but found just as you did that the postage is horrendous on Etsy. I also ruled out Lush's because they've got sulfates in. Perhaps some intensive research is in order! :)

i manged to find a person on ebay that sells them (actuallynatural) i bought a peppermint one, i haven't tried it yet, but i'll let you know. Other than that i'm unsure really =/

ETA: I did also a while back find a few UK based shampoo bar sellers on Etsy with reasonably shipping, I'll try and dig them out for you! Also, I've heard nothing but good things about Anita Grant's Babassu shampoo bars, (https://anitagrant.com/index.php?page=shop.browse&category_id=9&option=com_phpshop&Itemid=41) although they're at the pricey end of the spectrum.

Just thought you'd like to know, I was browsing good ol' Etsy today and found a UK based soap maker who also makes shampoo bars. They seem to do a soapnuts and babassu bar and a neem and shikaki bar, for reasonable prices and shipping too! I'm sorely tempted, not to mention the beautiful soaps they also stock! here! ETA: My excitement got the better of me and I ordered the Neem shampoo bar. I will let you know how it goes!

ahh i see, thanks very much, i'll have to check it out. I used my peppermint shampoo bar by the way :) the plan was to only wash my scalp, but then i hadn't washed my hair in a while so i decided to do all of it, it really has come out lovely and soft! i've just recently had a trim, and i normally hate my hair after it's been cut due to feeling shorter. But i actually wore it down today and felt quite happy with it :) i guess shampoo bars are for me. I highly recommend this one, it's also designed to help promote hair growth with the peppermint and rosemary (i think) so it's all good!!!!

One thing I would say about Lush shampoo bars - they contain SLS. Which if your hair/scalp are okay with that is no problem, but it surprised me given their advertising always leans toward emphasising the 'naturalness' of their products. Just something to be aware of. :)

I know its been 3 years, but I'd like to resurrect this thread!
There seems to be quite a few easy sellers based in the UK who make shampoo bars... just refine the search from anywhere to UK and they'll pop up :)
I'm tempted to try the henna one from funky soaps london on etsy... has anyone use them?

I think the soapnut shampoo bars from Living Naturally are quite good. There's a couple available on Amazon, & on the company site they offer a variety pack of mini bars (very small - about an inch long each) so you can try them all out for a reasonable price. They last quite well as long as you let them dry after use.

I've been using Funky Soap, based in London, for a month and it has transformed my hair. So SLS or any other weird chemicals. All natural, lathers up well and they do lots of varieties. Thought I'd put it out there to save UK based long hairs paying out custom charges for overseas shampoo bars.
