I know that I've posted this at the old forum, but I thought reposting it here might be a good idea, as some might not have seen it.

ETA: If you look really, really closely, you can actually see about an eighth of an inch of dark fuzz on the sides of my head. I'd had my last chemo on 12/21/05.

Thanks for posting that pic. I had not seen it before although I knew you had chemo and radiation, too, I believe. Hope all is well healthwise! Do you have a more recent progress pic? Just curious...

What progress! And congrats on what I assume must be your remission?
I like how the cat is all like "Puzzle: you're doing it wrong." Or maybe "Yes, I know the piece that you're looking for. It is under my right butt cheek."

I didn't know that you had chemo. Your hair is growing really fast!
Here's to happy hair days and continued good health! :toast:

Yes, I'm in remission. Yay! I had non-Hodgkins lymphoma, diagnosed 12/02 and just past the 5-year mark for that one. I had the radiation treatments for that - just a small tumor on the eyelid and conjunctiva of my right eye. I did have hair loss from it, however, from what they call the "exit dose." I lost a 3 or 4-inch square patch of hair from the area behind my right ear.
Breast cancer was diagnosed 8/05, and I had the chemo for that. I had my yearly chest X-ray last week. Since I had both breasts removed, I don't have mammograms anymore but the X-rays instead. I also had my DEXA scan that I have every 2 years now. I see my oncologist this coming Tuesday. I'll definitely check in and let you know what I found out. I did see my surgical oncologist a few weeks ago, and she declared me "perfect."
Now, if I could just get rid of the aches and pains of osteoarthritis . . .

Riot Crrl, you pretty much nailed it with regard to my booger-butt cat! She would come lie down on the puzzle and then get up with several pieces stuck all over her.
She threw out about a half-pound of litter when she used the litterbox this morning. As she came strolling past me, I said, "You made a mess!" She just sort of looked at me like, "So? Go clean it up if it bothers you!"
Her name, by the way, is Spot. I started calling her that when she was a feral kitten living in our garage. She has an orange spot over her left eye. That spot was about the only way that I could tell her and her brothers apart. We adopted her right after she had her first litter and developed mastitis and couldn't nurse them. DH had to take her to the vet for, basically, a kitty mastectomy. He nursed her back to health. She thinks he hung the moon. Me she tolerates, even to the point of LYING ON MY HEAD the other night in her sleep. Not on my hair. ON MY HEAD. I'd try to move her over, and she'd wiggle right back up against me. I think she liked how my hair smelled because right before she lay down on me, she'd buried her face in my hair, taken a big SNIFF! and "mrrred" her approval. Then PLOP. All 10 pounds of cat plop down on my head.
She is one of 8 cats we have. We also have a dog and an angelfish. Yes, I live in a zoo.

LOL! You haven't been using catnip rinse have you? I'm totally afraid to do that.

CATNIP RINSE? That sounds terrifying!
What wonderful progress! My great-aunt never bothered to grow out her hair so she just has a wonderful collection of flattering wigs, since she literally gets one cancer to go away and another one crops up. Poor lady. =/

Congrats on your growth! That is amazing. Your kitty is adorable! My kitty would sit on a puzzle that I was working on too, he loves to be the center of attention!
