Going swimming tomorrow.

For New Years' festivities I'm staying at a friends house who just so happens to have an indoor heated pool. I simply can't refuse an offer like that. :) However, what should I do to inhibit the effects of chlorinated water? I've read that rinsing with soda water really gets rid of the chlorine. But should I also rinse beforehand? Should I bring some conditioner with me?

If you are really worried, I would rinse beforehand. The one time exposure to chlorine for one party, if with no preparation or anything, would probably do no real amount of damage. I would relax and enjoy the party, but like I said if you were really concerned you could rinse beforehand, which is what I always do when swimming in a chlorinated pool.
