I got two new hair toys as presents! A beautiful Ficcarre style clip with red rhinestones and a set of combs with red rhinestones strung on elastic between the two (you know, the as seen on tv kind of magic combs). Here's some pics! Anybody else get any new hair accessories? I'd love to see pics of everyone's goodies!

Sorry for the pic size, I'm on my phone and can't resize.

I got a lacy scarf that is meant to be worn on the head. I like to wrap it like a headband and tie in a bow by my ear. The only problem is it is a light grayish color that totally washes me out and makes my hair look brassy/orangey.

Me! Me! I did! I got a 60th Street 3 prong fork 2 ketylo sticks and 3 flexis! No pics yet as haven't yet received them, just picked them out! I'm so excited. My hair has just gotten long enough to do a messy lazy wrap bun. I thought I might have to wait longer to actaully use them! So yay!

I did too. I guess people are catching on that my hair is a permanent fixture at least for a while. I received a four pronged hair fork which was ordered for me from Etsy (supplier unknown to me but craftsmanship of the wood seems well done) and 2 ketylo (sp) sticks. Cannot complain! :D

Beautiful forks, Jean Stuart!

I didn't get any hair toy per se, but I got a resin comb - one part fine tooth and one part wide - that's supposed to imitate bone. It is amazing! No static and feels very good on my scalp :D

I snatched two (hair)sticks from my mother. She had them in the office and I kinda asked "what do you use those for?" while putting them in my hair. She took the hint :> :> :>

Does that count?

(Also I am still waiting form my LHC secret santa gift, which supposedly will have a hair connection :))

My wonderful boys gave me some jeweled smaller hair combs and pins. They also gave me the as seen on TV hair combs with the jewels on stretchy sting between them. Honestly it made me nervous, i was worried that my hair would get caught on the jewels. But like all good mothers i put it in my hair anyways, for their sake, and was suprised after wearing it all day that when i removed it no hair was caught or pulled out. Great Job Boys!!

Oh, you're going to love it! LadyIduns are awesome.

I received a parcel from GTS on Christmas Eve. It was something I'd ordered myself -- an antler/ebony fork and a wishbone -- but I'm counting it because I wasn't expecting it to arrive before Christmas, and I certainly wasn't expecting to get a mail delivery on Saturday.

I got to unwrap my infamous Ficcare (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=84346) for Christmas!

And, (since it is more blessed to give than recieve)... my two long haired BFFs got hair toys from me for Christmas.

I've also turned my mom on to my new hair toy obsession and put in a word that she would keep her eye out for something pretty when she goes to Tenerife next week. I don't know how likely it is that she'll find any hair toys there, but I figured it's worth a shot. (And my birthday is coming up in February...)

DH made me 4 hairsticks. He took bamboo chopsticks and cut them down, sanded, rounded the tips and then put a finisher on them. He then topped them with "antiqued brass", one is a butterfly, one is a dragonfly, and two are flowers. He made them all similar so I could mix and match them. He even antiqued the brass toppers himself by using ammonia, steel wool, and them applying a fixative over the top to cure the brass so it wouldn't tarnish further. They look so nice! I'll try to get a pic later! I also got (from MIL) an Octopus hairstick from Emergent Glassworks on etsy. Love it!

Olive wood pin thingy, some bobby pins with flowers on them, a metal grip with some pink sparkles on it, and a pair of ring pony-tail holder things. Oh, and some Tigi eco freak hair texturiser. Pretty good I thought! I also got an all natural bar of soap, which I'm thinking could double as my first ever shampoo bar.

I got a wonderful metal barrette and metal bow bobby pins from one gift exchange, and an awesome mairzydozy copper hair fork with a leaf on it and a headband and mini bow cloth barrettes from another exchange. :)

My DBF got me the most beautiful and delicate white kimono silk kanzashi flower clips for my hair. :crush:

All in all, I'd say this year I got a great haul. :)

Nope! :( The closest thing I got was a hat from my grandmother, which is warm and comfortable but will require a braid or braids in order for me to wear it. I think my DBF is too intimidated to get me a hair toy. But he got me books, which I love, so I can't complain.

I did! It's funny because I told DH that I wanted a bohn comb and/or some nice hair sticks. I also told him to not worry about getting them because he couldn't. He can't use the internet and has no cc. Plus nowhere around here really sells these kinds of things.

Well he decided he'd try anyway. He went to some hair place (his words, I'm thinking it was Harmon's) and all they had was "cheap plastic crap!" That is the only kind of hair sticks I ever owned before LHC, but that wasn't good enough to him. He went to this fossil shop we like and low and behold they had one, only they couldn't sell it. It has recently become illegal to export bone sticks from the country they got them from. They got them before it was illegal, but still couldn't sell it. Well DH helped them open a trailer that they'd broken the tool they needed to open it. They gave him a few free things and sold him the stick! It's from an antler of some deer type animal from Africa (he can't recall the name of the animal.) It's not the prettiest thing, but it is nice and the best stick I own. :D
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b255/lostsoule/IMG_3930.jpg

Action shot - my first succesful cinnamon bun too! None of my other sticks would hold it, they always turned it into a beebutt bun. With pins it just pulled.
