Hi, all! I am new but very familiar with a couple members just by searching through the forum for hair-spiration!

I'm trying to make new friends and get past the 25 post mark (I feel like I might get to waist length hair before that happens, lol). I was wondering if you could help me with my hair stats. I think I am BSL, but all of these acronyms are throwing me off. I took a picture with my bra strap just to confirm, lol.

As suggested, I got out a striped shirt. I feel so official. :D

Definitely a very solid BSL length, if not BSL+. :) This (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=54874) might help you figure out the abbreviations, it is a bit daunting but you get used to them surprisingly quickly.

Thanks so much! I've seen so many pictures and interpretations of lengths, I figured it was best to ask. :)

The thing that got me past the 25 posts mark was answering all the "easy" polls I could find in the Hair Polls & Projects section :D

Is this your hair freshly washed and not manipulated styled when drying? Not even combed?
It looks like 1a or 1a/b (very straight) and perhaps f(ine) or m(edium) strand thickness.

You have a very lovely hair; welcome to LHC!!!

Arctic, thank you! No, it has been manipulated (I have so much to learn LOL) I'm trying to give up my blowdryer (at least, the heat setting... I've managed to go from half warm setting/half cool setting so far!). My hair isn't very fine, but it definitely looks it in the picture. I'll post some new pics tomorrow of my untouched, washed hair. Thank you for the help!

Good; I look forward to pictures of your natural texture.
In the current pictures, it looks very much 1A to me.

Welcome to LHC! :) For proper hair typing you need to do a clarifying wash, no conditioner and then let your hair air dry without touching it.

Where does this "no conditioner" recommendation come from?

I was "told" that too - clarify, no conditioner and let airdry. That's how I did my hairtyping. Not sure where I read it but that's what I read.
