Hi, everyone.
You've all been so, so helpful and kind to me whenever I have posted, thank you. :)
Unfortunately I'm having a little trouble & I'm not sure where else I could turn to.
My hair is thinning out, very rapidly. I've even gained (..lost?) a bald patch & my bangs have practically vanished and broken off. I'm so frustrated and saddened..
Every haircut, every style, looks horrible. I have spent the past week trying out different styles and using different accessories trying to fix it, but to no avail. The thinning/lack of hair/bald-patch is so obvious, I don't want anyone to see me.
I took pride in taking care of my hair, treating it well, nourishing it, etc. Everyone commented on how shiny it was, how long it was getting (from pixie to SL currently), how healthy it looked.
My health is really very poor, and I think that's why this has happened. I thought if I really cared for my hair it could be the one thing I could control & focus on & be happy about.
And now this has happened.. I don't really know what to do. It's hideous. I know this is a sort of "First World Problem" but I'm sure you ladies here understand how upsetting this could be.
I'm not sure what to do. Cut it short again? Wear a wig? Does anyone have any advice? I'm so lost.. :(

See your doctor and have a complete blood panel done, plus a thyroid check.
Also, look into eating more healthy and drinking more water.
Good luck!

Don't cut it short, it will just look like a hack job, I did it when mine all fell out, and it was bad. Of course, if enough falls out, you may have to, but hold off as long as you can. Get a hat or toque, and some head scarves and learn pretty ways to tie them for now.
I did end up buying a wig eventually, so it may come to that, but hopefully if you get your blood checked out and start taking vitamins etc, it will stop falling out.

I second this.

Thanks, both of you! :)
I take a lot of vitamins & supplements, eat very clean and healthy. I have bloodwork done every fortnight & results show that I have a very slightly underactive thyroid, but I can't do anything about that right now. I guess thyroid function can affect hair too? Guh.. ):
I'm hoping that once I get my health back I will also get my hair back! :)

I'm sorry this is happening to you.
If I were you, I'd get a wig and work on getting healthy first. See a doctor if you haven't -- hair falling out is a very general sign that something's going wrong with your body. Deal with that and your hair should recover. Cutting your hair short will probably make the thin/bald patches more obvious, so it might be better to maintain the length for now.
ETA: Thyroid function definitely affects hair. So does anemia and many vitamin deficiencies. Get to the bottom of the problem.

Anje, thank you!
There's definitely an underlying problem - I'm currently undergoing a lot of tests due to a heart failure & frequent faints. I know it's silly but I did really hope that with everything going on I could save my hair, something to focus on, you know?
I guess I was looking for a miracle cure over the internet! :D
I will take everyone's advice and not cut my hair short. I am looking at wigs right now.. I suppose the good thing is that I can have instant long & thick hair? P:

If you do continue to lose it and you want to talk about it, feel free to pm me, it is a very hard thing to go through, and most of the support out there is for hair loss due to chemo, which is still hard, but not quite the same( they know why they are loosing it, for one thing)

Try not to stress about it and do everything in your power to fix it! Think positive!
I understand why you feel like this, and it's normal to talk about it, to us at least.
Don't feel bad about asking doctor for advice about this and don't fail to mention it!
It is part of your body...and it is a symptom/consequence of something.
It will get ok....:flower:

Firstly, I hope you feel better soon. :flower:
Secondly, I am not a doctor, but I once was taking lots (and lots) of Vitamin A, and it made my hair fall out.
I second those that suggested you tell your doctor about your hair loss. Also, if you haven't done so, I suggest you tell your doctor about your vitamins/supplements. I didn't tell my doctor specifically about my vitamin A intake, I just said "vitamins." So as my hair's falling out for months, my doctor thought I was just taking a single multivitamin, and not making the correlation.
Good luck and take care.
