I do not always agree with some of her advice or reviews of products. This however is well worth reading!

I knew most of those. I think it's funny how companies/salespeople use words/phrases/and science to rip people off... Because they think that most people will just go along with what they say/are too stupid to know any better. gah!

There is a new study on lavender essential oil that looks promising, http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showpost.php?p=1812346&postcount=156

I don't think the sales people are "trying to rip people off". They are just misinformed and trying to make their numbers. Their job is to sell, and sell a certain amount in a set amount of time.

I loved what that article said about mineral oil, petrolatum. Nivea (the blue box) is chock full of it and is the best moisturizer *ever*. Beats regular cold cream any day.

I LOVE PAULA BEGOUN!! Her skincare changed my life. I don't buy a single skincare product without checking her reviews.

I used to work for a skin care company- and the company would tell us what to say to people. The information they gave us was basically what was questioned in the article. I do believe companies want money and do think people are stupid enough not to know better than what their salespeople tell them. Hence me saying companies/salespeople are trying to rip people off- by making the consumer believe a product that really does nothing is worth their money.

I have done sales too and some companies are more ethical than others. I refused to compromise my ethics for money but it was difficult to toe that line at times and make a decent living. Making sales quotas is no excuse for "whatever it takes" to make a sale - the exact phrase that I have heard in sales meetings.

I usually try to take what she says with a grain of salt, but I love reading her opinions on the cosmetic industry!
