Hello, I apologize if this type of thread has been posted before.

My hair is at the longest it's ever been, give or take an inch. My hair is still pretty curly at BSL - I get nice, springy S-waves and interspersed loose ringlets out of day 1 and sometimes day 2 hair depending on how much I handle it during day 1. I'd like to continue growing until I reach tailbone length and I'm curious to see if there are any curlies (2c+) who have grown out to this length and how it has affected your curl.

If possible, can you post pictures of your curls at various lengths?

Thanks!! :)

These are all length shots as my hair is growing from July until today (Dec. 5) http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/picture.php?pictureid=117340&albumid=8987&dl=1319761818&thumb=1http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/picture.php?pictureid=117326&albumid=8987&dl=1319761298&thumb=1http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/picture.php?pictureid=118425&albumid=8987&dl=1320806577&thumb=1http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/picture.php?pictureid=120534&albumid=8987&dl=1323140198&thumb=1
Hopefully they will help you see how it looks as it grows and how the curl/wave pattern can stretch out and behave differently on different days.

Actually, I think there's a whole thread devoted to 3a curls, which are kind of similar if you want to look those up.

I'm about BSL when stretched, feel free to look through my albums. :)

My hair is a bit past classic when stretched or wet -- well, at least some of it is :) -- and the length does not seem to have affected the curls at all. The only thing that is different at this length is that it tangles and knots much more easily and it is more damaged from wearing it down over the past several years. So I basically wear it up at all times now. Sorry, I don't have any nice pictures at different lengths to post.

Whoops, I still have a few posts to go before I can see your pictures or albums. Rats!! Hopefully in a day or so I'll have a nice collection of pictures to see when I get my membership status.

I'm curious if you co-wash? I just started about a month ago. I haven't noticed any huge, drastic differences, but I haven't brushed my hair in all that time and haven't had any tangles. It will probably get much worse as you said as it gets longer.

My curls were there curliest at shoulder length, at waist they seem a bit more stretched out and are not a ringlet-y or springy, but besides that, all is well.

Great photos, thanks! (I can see them now, woohoo!)

Can you offer any detail on if your hair was wet, brushed out, etc. in any of the photos? Some days the curl is really tight and defined, and some days they look very uniform and more like braid waves.

No, I tried CO a long time ago, pre-LHC, and my hair just didn't feel good. Maybe I did not do it correctly. It is interesting that you have not had any tangles.

I have two albums which show my hair at a couple different lengths, but I don't have any good pictures from before it was tailbone length, and I brushed my hair for years before realizing that I had curls and you shouldn't brush them.
So this isn't super helpful, but I'll just point out that I do still have some curls, even at classic length.

Hi, pressedflowers! I don't have any pictures to show you yet, but my hair is 3b and around waist. My curls are not much chanched with lenght, but I can't keep the curls the day after washing since I sleep with braided hair. I keep my hair up every day, and now in winter I'm washing it only about once a week. I have been CO'ing for a year, but have changed to using shampoo sometimes since CO did't do much of a change. I have considered buying something with cones, since my hair seems to be missing them... For me tangles are not a problem (updos), but since my ends are still so dry, cones my be the solution. Curly hair seems to have a mind of it's own, finding out what your hair wants is the clue.
