Job interviews & hair styles for long hair

Very soon I will be called for job interviews. But then I wondered, "what on earth will I do with my hair??" I'm more familiar with hair styles for shorter hair suitable for such an occassion, but until now I've never realized what one with very long hair would do. I have TB (almost) length hair and leaving it down is not an option. I know that I cannot do a hairstyle too extravagant as well.

So I'm asking, does anyone have any experience with this matter, and how have you managed to keep your hair nice and formal appropriate for a job interview?

I have no experience with this as my hair is still very very short, but log rolls and french twists always seem to look sophisticated.

Another option is a Topsy-tail into a braid that is then tucked up. Here is what I do with knee-length hair:

Make a "Topsy Tail." Braid the remaining hair and tie off at just below BSL. Bring the braided portion up and thread the remaining tail through the "topsy." Bring whatever is left and wrap it around the initial ponytail tie-off. Secure with bobby pins so the tail does not unravel. Antique combs not required. :D

What type of jobs will you be interviewing for? If it is in an industry that is conservative (think men's suits and ties and women's skirt suits) I would do a simple bun of some kind and pin it with pins that won't be seen. If the workplace is more casual, you could go with something a little less severe.

If it's a business-y environment, I would suggest a mid-low cinnamon bun or chignon, or a French twist if your hair isn't too long. A part that is slightly off to one side would look nice with any of these. These styles tend to look neat, modern, and conservative, and the cinnamon bun is particularly easy to do :)

If it's a less formal type of a thing, you could do something less restrained :) Good luck with your interviews!!

Or you can just wrap it into a loose bun, low or mid (not top of the head), and secure it with pins, jaw clip or ficcare type clip and it works for most formal interviews. Good luck in the job search & acquisition.

Today I will be trying out all your suggested hairstyles. I have to wear a suit to the interviews, but it isn't exactly very formal. I think that I'll go for something that looks simpler but elegant. The chignon looks good for now. I tried the French twist, but my hair is just too long. So whichever hairstyles I will be able to do well, I'll go for it!
