I love upswept hair and mine rarely stays in anything other than these - that must be synchronicity!! I have nearly mastered the gentle way to insert and take out the bobby pins (only use quality ones), and i apply a small 'coating' of African Gold Super Rich Coconut Oil Hair Conditioner (has petrolatum - i wont get into the argument here:) as extra protection to my deep conditioned hair. Surprisingly, it too soaks in, makes my hair soooo soft and tangle free, and keeps the moisture in in this cold dry winter we get here! Simple looped sections not purposesefully arranged really, other than an idea of what shape i want the end result to have, and how high or low i want it.

Beautiful. I can never get my hair to do that without it looking like a child did it. :p

Any tips for people like me?

Oh, lovely! One of my friends would do that with her hair all the time and I always loved how it looked. Very whimsical but still romantic looking.

hehe youre funny, anywhere!! These dont take any skill really, although I did have to try it about three times on a Saturday before i got it right. Now i have a couple 'routes' i take around my scalp. The following would change depending on your length and thickness, but i basically lift a section and move it to where is want the first loop, wrap twice around a couple fingers, pin, move over, wap the rest pin, repeat. Then go look at the back in a mirrot and think about what you might need to change. Do you need to pin the loops closer to each other? Do you need to change the shaoe? The size of the loops?

That looks lovely - and I love the way it covers a wide area, if that makes sense! My updos always look far too compact for my liking. Do you have to start from the crown area and work outwards? And how do you stop the underneath/sides from sagging and going floopy? Ive never got my hair to stay properly up without starting with a ponytail or two!

It's pretty, but the loops in my hair would be HUGE, so I don't think this style would work for my length.

That's beautiful!!! I would love to be able to achieve that effect in my slippery fine hair!

Nice! I like pin-up styles, too. I forced myself to do it really fast a few days ago, and got something that looked pretty decent in only 20 minutes. It gave lovely curls when I let it down, too (but the curls didn't last).

Hi summergreen! I start by taking a horizontal sectio from my temples to the middle of back, raising the angle a little as i go back, then i need to put a pin vertically where the outside of the bun would be to keep that section back. My first pinned loop is at the outside of the bun working toward the back. Then i do the same with the other side. My next two sectiins are from about mid ear and back, working from outside in, but making sure im pinning and/or tucking them close to the other ones. and whats left usually gets divided into three, filling in where needed None of this is measured or using a rattail comb, i just try to get the same on each side. I know what you mean about the bottom - took me a couple tries:)! I bring the section up, and pin it there before i do the loop.
