One year and 4 months later (progress)

schweedie mentioned on a thread how my braid was looking so long, and out of curiosity I went back and checked my very first and last picture side by side. Holy crap! I was not expecting this :thud:OMG I'm happy!
I guess I owe you a big thank you for all the wisdom, back then I didn't even know knee length hair was physically possible :rolleyes:

And my friends from high school thought my hair was long! What would they think if they saw me now? :eyebrows:

The new braid is a little thinner, I cut some very blunt bangs in summer and they are stealing quite a bit of thickness. I am growing them out now, but never regretted them, though. It was a fun change ^^'
I think the fact that the older pictures were taken at a much closer distance also make them look larger, though. In reality I only lost 1cm of ponytail circumference after cutting my bangs.


Pics on the left are the old, shorter dyed hair. On the right the braid is the same (pics taken earlier today) only the view is different.

Oh yea, and did I mention that I could barely do an English braid when I first joined? :p

Thank you ^^' The weird thing is, I didn't start with a good head of hair, that first picture looked great because I had just dyed my hair and it was soaked in coconut oil. But in reality when I joined this place my ends were completely dry and damaged and I was going through a rough patch which made me lose a lot of hair (I even had a bald spot on my hairline!) but everything turned out for the best in the end :D I'm still pretty surprised about it!

It kinda does, doesn't it? Back when I was around... 16? I had this dull, ashy brown hair that had no warmth at all, and that's why I started dying it in the first place. But now I'm really enjoying my natural color ^^

They were my favourites, but since I stopped wearing my flesh tunnels and the holes closed up, I can no longer use those earrings, they're just too heavy :(
I could adapt them into some sort of ear wrap thingy, though:idea: That way the weight of the dangle wouldn't be on the holes... Thanks for reminding me! :D

Do try it. You can never go wrong with accent braids! :D Just make sure you don't make them too thin or they "drown" in the rest of your hair xD

Congratulations on your progress! I was the same way with braids. When I first joined I was not able to do a french braid, but ever since hearing about how it helps to braid your hair before you go to sleep, I am now an expert. :-D
