I remember on LHL they used to have a list of long hair salons. Anyone know of a list of salons that cater especially to long hairs?

Do you mean something besides this list (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=11326)?

IL? Are you sometimes in the state of Illinois, then? If so, there is a salon mentioned later in the long haired list thread (here (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=11326&page=8)) but the original list in the first post hasn't yet been updated to include it. I think there's also a LHC member who is a hairstylist working in a Chicago suburb.

There are many salons and stylists that cater to long hair that will not be on that list. You can search your local area in the business section of your phone book or online, many salons or stylists will advertise this specialty. You can also call your local salons and ask if they have a long hair specialist, many salons won't but it is exciting when you hear YES. Ask some questions of the stylist and see what vibe you get. If it's a good one, set up a consultation only, then go from there.

Sometimes. I'm in a custody battle, messy divorce, bad situation now, so I don't know when I'll go.

That sounds difficult and stressful. :( Best wishes in getting through it. :flowers:

I can see how having a nice hair cut could be a pleasant and relaxing distraction in these times. Since there is not a listed salon easily accessible to you now, UltraBella's advice is very good. I've met several ladies with lovely long hair from Korea so there must be capable stylists there.

Before I even really wanted to try having longish hair, I had a haircut by random appointment that led me to believe I might be able to enjoy having longish hair. The stylist offered to take off a small amount, had a very light touch, asked before doing any heat styling, and seemed to have the good communication skills to probably be able to accept any other long-haired type wishes. The person may or may not have been a long-haired specialist but I think any LHCer would have been happy with that stylist. I guess I'm just trying to reiterate that you can still probably find someone who is good with long hair even if they do not advertise it or do the full George Michael treatment.
