Cousin It - I think I look like him from the back. I have to get a pic with my top hat and the dh's raybans. Yes I’m old – I loved the Addams Family – Morticia’s hair and that tiny little walk she had. Anyway it is spring and my hair and I are having our usual battle. The picture below (hopefully it shows up) is about five years worth of grow out and getting to one length. To get to my goal of waist length is probably another two years; the bottom of the picture will be waist length or about six more inches. Right now I think my hair is fairly healthy, I don’t find too many splits and I’m trying to keep up a routine SMT.
I joined LHC last May and have basically only grown an inch or so since then, with two ½ inch trims and a dusting. I think a good month growing is a ¼ inch! So any cuts are a BIG HUGE deal. But I’m bored with the all one length look. I’ve had layers and when not straightened my hair has a lot of wave so layers look nice but not in the end picture in my head. I’ve been playing with updos for a few weeks now and I am starting the two week rule today. I want a change of something. Right now my length is just annoying me, it is trying to strangle me in my sleep. I’ve tried braiding but don’t like sleeping on the lumps. I have never really liked my hair on the top of my head, so I think a sock bun is out. I’m considering a sleep cap, but I have a feeling that will be the end of any romance with the dh. (TMI I know put on after!) I move around a lot as I sleep roll over move hair go back to sleep and I don’t think it’s really that long yet – how do you über hairs deal with this!?
I've been drooling over longlocks hairstix and wondering if a splurge order will give me enough breathing room to get past this phase. I would like to have passed hairstick 101 before the investment though.

Yes I'm a pink girly girl... I think I just need to find a daily updo that will work in my conservative office, today I twisted the sides and did a flip through pony tail with the rest - slightly funny look from the boss. I can do a french twist, but where ever the clip is starts to hurt after 4-5 hours. So thanks for letting me rant on - talk me down off the ledge of cutting!
