Hi everybody!

I hope you all are off to a great start on the new week! Next month marks my first year on the LHC~ I'm so glad to have discovered this forum while searching the internet for "hairstyles for super-long hair" :)

It's been a while since I posted pictures of a new hairstyle, but here are a few from today.

(My sister had to clip the bottom for me~ I couldn't reach it myself!)

What an overwhelming response! Thank you so much.

Yes, it could actually be considered a perimeter braid, but I pulled it back and clipped it together in the middle to give it the cage braid look instead.

Some folks asked how I did this and how long it took.

It took about 15-20 minutes.

First I divided my hair in two sections. I brought the left section over my left shoulder and started to braid a lace French braid, adding hair only from the side closest to my face. I added hair loosely, all the way down until I ran out of hair (about waist level). Then I finished braiding and tied off the end with a ponytail holder.

I did the same thing to the right side.

I brought both "perimeter" braids up and over, and held them together at the back of my head with a hair clip. I like this look from the front, because it looks like a some-up-some-down, with a poofy-look at the top (rather than all your hair scraped back, if you know what I mean).

I fastened the two braids together at the bottom with ponytail holders, folded them up into a bun underneath my cage braid, and my sister clipped that in place with the larger flower clip.

Voila!

As I was looking at your hairdo... I was thinking... This is a Sunday hairdo.
Good for church and looking nice. Too nice for the market and running errands.
And what do you know... it's SUnday.
(I'm distracted from being worn out (end of daylight savings time) and having friends over for dinner.,... I'd forgotten what day it was!!!)

You're so right! These pictures were taken between Sunday School and church...I can't imagine trying this look during the week! (In fact, I took it down Sunday afternoon and made a low side-rope bun instead~)

Beautiful as ever!! Did this to J, since her hair was more/less straight and too long to be loose down. She approves of it. Usually her hair is too curly to try this, but with the attempt to straighten it somewhat, it worked.
