Blue dye over Henna glossed hair

Hi all! :eyebrows:

I dyed a streak of my bangs "blue" (it obviously has a greenish tinge to it, but it's still obviously blue to people who see it in person) after two or three henna glosses.

It did not turn brown.

I don't know how "safe" the dye is, It is RAW true blue dye that I've had stored away for three years, outside in my shed, so it was exposed to below freezing temperatures from winter and hot temperatures from summer. I don't know if it is a vegetable based dye or not, it's "demi permanent".

I wish I could dye my whole head with it but I'm afraid of it fading awkwardly and DBF advises against it. :o

But yes, blue dye over semi-henna'ed unbleached hair will NOT turn brown. You will get a funky turquoise blue color instead. I personally like it, it looks super blue in certain lighting.

That's a lovely colour! Blue is a tough one, because unless your base is white, as soon as there is a hint of yellow/golden there, it will turn greenish. But yours is a lovely turquoise and very nice!
