Hi,
Jennie and I started talking the other day about her hair colour, she have had it called to a variety of colours, light brown, dark blonde, honey blonde and been told both that her hair is to light/darkt to be blonde/brown.

So I thought maybe LHC could help us come up with a good answer, when people asks och says what her haircolour is.

Here is some pics of her amazing hair:

I just love her hair!
She is my best hairbuddy in the world. :cheese:

Her hair looks very much like my DH's, so I would call it light brown.

Probably could call it different shades, but it is so beautiful!

I'd say she definitely falls into the "blonette" category. Very beautiful hair!

I'd say light brown as well. I love her hair though. It is beautiful.

I'd call it dirty blonde! She has beautiful hair.

Anje
October 24th, 2011, 09:46 AM
I'd call it blond. If it seems too dark for that, go with 'tawny'.

It is always a pleasure to see these unforgettable puctures again! It looks like her roots are light brown, but her hair lightens naturally to dark blonde, becoming more golden in the length as it lightens. It is beautiful, and a perfect illustration of why a bit of sun lightening can be a good thing!

I'd call this a strawberry / medium blonde. No way is this anywhere near brown!

Rosetta
October 24th, 2011, 10:12 AM
I'd say definitely in the "blonette" category! :) See http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=80416
Lovely hair, and a lovely medieval dress!

I'd call it dirty blonde! She has beautiful hair.
How I wish people wouldn't use such terms as "dirty" for any hair colour (once again)... :( And like it was a descriptive term, even though it isn't. (And to use words "dirty" and "beautiful" to describe the same hair seems an oxymoron to me...)

Very much blonde, no where near brown!

October 24th, 2011, 10:28 AM
I'm no expert but I consider it to be a shade of blonde, i wouldn't view it as a brown as it's so golden in some of the photo's. She has gorgeous hair.

The first picture it could almost be a light brown, the rest look pretty clearly blonde on my monitor. Beautiful, whatever it is.

I'd call it dark blond. It is exactly like my sister's hair colour (she has WL hair). :p Your friend's hair is gorgeous! :D

Please be aware that different monitors show color differently. On my monitor, she seems to have rather blonde hair, nothing hinting of light brown although in time it may turn to that color, as it did for me. Mine also possesses a fair amount of kind of reddish hints.

I also say blonette.. which doesn't exactly answer your question because it means hair color that is between blonde and brown. It does appear to me to be on the blonder side of blonette, but I can see how in certain light it would look light brown.

I'd say dark blonde.. her hair's beautiful! is she a member here?

Your friends hair is Honey Blond.

This shade of blonde can be confused with light brown. Hope this helps:)

October 24th, 2011, 12:59 PM
NOT brown. Medium/golden blonde, like my own. But its really a lot of shades and thats what makes it so beautiful :p

I'd say she's a honey/golden blonde. I love the color as well!

Same as my natural colour, dark blonde with red hints!

I would say she has blond hair, not light brown at all for me;). Beautiful hair anyway:).

Her hair is gold.

I would call this a golden dark blonde. Btw, let your friend know I think her hair is STUNNING! Looks so healthy from root to tip!

I'd call it a beautiful honey blonde. :)

Definitely blonde. I think lots of people are actually blondes who consider themselves brunettes. There are soooo many shades and degrees of brown but it seems that people think to be blonde means you have to be platinum!

Gorgeous hair by the way! :)

Spun gold. :) Honey blonde. It's too light to be brown, I think.

Lucky her - what a gorgeous shade!

ETA: The medieval outfits take what is already lovely hair and frame it fantastically.

Holy Hannah, she's got awesome hair! I'd also go with blonette/dark blonde.

Sarahmoon
October 24th, 2011, 03:28 PM
A darker shade of golden blonde.

But as with most hair colours it seems to vary a bit depending on the light.

MissManda
October 24th, 2011, 03:39 PM
I'd say that her hair is a mid-dark honey blonde color. :)

Issmene

Hmmm, I'd go for medium/dark honey blonde, maybe even strawberry blonde. Lovely!

Blueglass

A dark blonde with a hint of red. Tawny is the best overall term. Lovely photos.

Medium blond. Not dark enough to be light brown/dark blond, not light enough to be light blond.

According to this she seems to be a level 7 medium golden blonde. I don't see any pictures which could be thought of as brown, but I'm sure it changes according to the light.

I'd say honey blonde. I don't think it's warm enough to be considered strawberry blonde. My brother has strawberry blonde hair, and it's a much warmer color then your friend has. :flower:

Somewhere in the blond spectrum for sure. If I was her I would say I had blond hair, nothing more nothing less :)

I would call her blonette... If people ask her what color her hair is, she should simply tell them it is the color they see. Beautiful hair :)

Don't know - but that pic of her sitting in front of the waterfall is gorgeous!

I'm surprised that anyone would call her hair brown! To me it looks blonde. Blonde, blonde, blonde!

(But maybe having almost-black brown hair on my own head skews my perception of what is "brown.") :)

Mountaingrrl
October 24th, 2011, 08:25 PM
I'd say dark golden blonde.

Lostsoule77
October 24th, 2011, 08:33 PM
In a couple of the pictures it looks like up by her roots are a light brown and the rest is all blonde (probably lightened by the sun.) Whatever color it is it's gorgeous. :)

It is like my boyfriend's hair, except his is ashy, not golden like that. His is light brown... So either light brown or dark blonde. Very pretty!

October 24th, 2011, 10:28 PM
I think it is a very golden dark blonde. Simply gorgeous! I'm not seeing the brown.

invisiblebabe

I'd say honey blonde. I don't think it's warm enough to be considered strawberry blonde. My brother has strawberry blonde hair, and it's a much warmer color then your friend has. :flower:

I agree :) She's dark honey blonde.

She's not strawberry blonde.... I consider strawberry blonde to have a lot more red/copper in it.

Dark golden blonde. No way that is brown!

I would actually use the words "dirty blonde" to describe my own hair colour. I don't find the term to be intentionally derogatory or associated with dirtiness. It's a term I, and quite a few other people, use to describe a darker blonde shade. I don't make any correlation with this term and the degree of beauty of the hair.

Same as mine.

Dark golden blonde. Definitely not brown. 'Honey' would be an acceptable term, but I hardly think it's terribly specific since honey comes in all sorts of shades.

I'd say medium blonde.

Not brown at all. :) She has gold tones, so I say blonde.

I'm Jennie, thanks to my good friend Maya, I'm member now! :D
It took her a month of constant questions of why don't you join LHC? for me to give in.

So thank you all for you input, I personally have to say that I too think my hair belongs among the blondes.
