I chopped, and I love it!

Four days ago, I chopped my tailbone length hair up to bra strap length. I couldn't be happier with my choice. It was a huge change, but I'm in love with my hair again. My hair was getting to be more of a drag than it was fun or enjoyable. Washing took forever, it took literally days to dry fully and I could never wear it down because it would get into everything! I will miss the intricate updo's I could do with all my hair, but I really couldn't be happier with my choice. I hope you all like it as much as I do!

Here is a picture of my hair about 6 months ago. It looked very similar right before the chop, except about 3-4" longer. It went a little past the hem of this blue shirt.

It looks lovely. I did exactly the same thing a few years ago for similar reasons, i.e. chopped my tailbone/hip length hair up to BSL and I loved it. Its a lot shorter now and I'm growing back to bsl - I think its a very flattering and versatile length. Looks great on you and you've inspired me, thank you!

Thank you all so much for the lovely compliments! I really do love it. I just washed it for the first time since I got it cut and it's drying up really curly, which is so nice! I haven't had proper curls in a long time because it was just too long to curl up. Thanks again, your kind words have made my day!

That's exactly why I did it. There was no point in trying to get to classic if I was only going to get irritated with my hair! I'm glad you like it!

Exactly! That's how I feel.

Here is a picture of my hair 3 days after co-washing. I curled the ends a bit and straightened my bangs. It's really different from how I used to style my hair (which was a bun every single day). I'm loving that I have the option of wearing my hair down now!

To be honest, I was sad at first too. It had become a part of my identity, really, and it was a bit strange to let go, even though it is temporary. But, I'm happy with the cut, and I don't regret it at all. I figure, change can be a good thing, and hair grows back :)

I had a little twinge when she made the first cut, so I totally understand it. But I'm having so much fun now! I can do hairstyles again that I retired years ago! I feel lighter. :D
