Is Auburn considered "red headed"?

I always considered it as such. I would say it is unless it is mostly brown with hints of red.

I started using Rainbow Henna Auburn over my natural level 5 with reddish tones. I was just trying to figure out if it was red or brown...either way I love my hair color and texture now. I love LHC for all I'm learning.

Uhm, looking at my signature picture...any idea if I'm shoulder length in back since I'm at bottom of neck, or do I have a couple more inches to go? This is another question that has me perplexed.

Yep. When my daughter was a few months old we were at a restaurant and a hairdresser came by to compliment our "Gorgeous red-haired baby" and said that she had a striking auburn color. :)

Yes, I consider auburn to be in the "red" category since it has more red than brown. A color that has more brown but still has a distinct amount of red in it is what I think of as chestnut. :)

Definitely yes! I think I am considered auburn with bright red highlights naturally and I have been called red-headed many times. Also depends on the lighting. In bright sunlight, my hair is very red, in darker light it can look more brown so it depends, but it is considered red.

To me it depend on that shade.

Being a genetic redhead, I have a more strict opinion than most as to what makes a redhead. I have auburn hair myself and I am a redhead. However, some people have auburn hair that has only the slightest hint of red to it and I'm surprised when they call it red. They obviously don't have the redhead mutation.
